Strengths | |||
---|---|---|---|
• Really easy to use and combos are not hard to understand • Deals a good amount of Spectro DMG to be your Main DPS in the early game and then reassigned to the Sub-DPS role in the mid to late game • Outro Skill creates a stasis, allowing to crowd control enemies • Resonance Chain can be completed by just progressing the game |
|||
Weaknesses | |||
• By being an all-arounder, Rover (Spectro) gets outclassed by other characters who specialize in the Main DPS or Sub-DPS role |
Rover (Spectro) is a strong character, even after you've passed the tutorial section of the game. They're also a lot easier to upgrade compared to other characters since you can get their requisite materials by just doing Main Quests, gathering Sonance Caskets, and completing Guidebook Milestones.
However, at later levels, they get outclassed by other DPS characters pulled from banners, as well as their own Havoc form that's unlocked later down the line.

Rover (Spectro) is a Sub-DPS character that can dish out Spectro damage. They work well with equipment that increases the damage of their attacks, whether that be through increased Crits, Attack, or Spectro boosts. Overall, Rover (Spectro) is a great character to use in the early game while you are still trying to acquire other 5-star Resonators!
Main Echo | Explanation |
---|---|
Mourning Aix
|
・A no-nonsense echo for increasing Rover-Spectro's damage. ・Increases both Spectro DMG and Resonance Liberation. |
Echo Set | Rating |
---|---|
Celestial Light
(5-pc) |
★★★ - Best With Rover (Spectro) obviously being a Spectro damage dealer, you will want to equip the Celestial Light set on them to buff their Spectro damage. Their Spectro damage gets an additional buff when they use their Intro Skill. Lastly, using Mourning Aix will increase the Spectro and Resonance Liberation damage of Rover. Recommended Main Echo: |
Celestial Light
(2-pc) Lingering Tunes (2-pc) |
★★☆ - 2nd Best Using a 2 pc. Celestial Light and a 2 pc. Lingering Tunes set is the second best Echoes Set for Rover (Spectro) as they still gain a buff to their Spectro damage and also their ATK. Equipping a 5 pc. Lingering Tunes set for Rover (Spectro) is not advisable since their Outro Skill does not deal any damage. Recommended Main Echo: |
Celestial Light
(2-pc) Moonlit Clouds (2-pc) |
★☆☆ - 3rd Best Mixing Celestial Light with Moonlit Clouds allows you to get an increase in Energy Regen while maintaining a good amount of Spectro DMG Bonus from Celestial Light. Recommended Main Echo: |

5 | Sword of Night |
Tenacity When Intro Skill is cast, increases ATK by 8%, lasting for 10s. |
Emerald of Genesis is Rover (Spectro)’s best weapon simply because it is a 5-star weapon. This means that it provides the most damage compared to the other weapons currently available. Not only does Emerald of Genesis have a stacking ATK buff, but it also increases Rover (Spectro)’s Energy Regen. Commando of Conviction is a 4-star alternative that increases Rover (Spectro)'s ATK whenever they use their Intro Skill.
Main DPS | Sub-DPS | Support |
---|---|---|
Rover (Spectro) | Yangyang | Baizhi |
While you are just starting out, this team composition will carry you while you are still trying to get your first 5-star Main DPS. The team revolves around Yangyang generating Energy for Rover (Spectro) for them to use their Ultimate.
Baizhi will be the team's healer unless you already pulled Verina early on, or have Shorekeeper available.
1 | Yangyang starts the battle and charges the Concerto Energy until the Resonator icons of the other characters glow up. She can use her Ultimate to group up small enemies and then use her Skill to damage the enemies before getting swapped out. |
---|---|
2 | Once Rover (Spectro) is fully charged, you can switch to them, which triggers their Intro Skill. This makes Rover (Spectro) deal Spectro DMG when they enter the field. Switching from Yangyang to the Rover (Spectro) will allow them to recover some Resonance Energy for a few seconds. |
3 | When Rover (Spectro)'s Resonance Liberation can be used, use it to dish out some AoE Spectro DMG. Then, follow it up with some Basic Attacks and their Heavy Attack variations to charge the Forte Gauge, use their Skill, and do some Basic Attacks again while charging Concerto Energy. |
4 | Switch back to Yangyang once the Intro Skill has fully charged up. If you need healing, switch to your Support instead. |
5 | Repeat the steps until all enemies are gone! |
Main DPS | Sub-DPS | Support |
---|---|---|
Jiyan | Rover (Spectro) | Shorekeeper |
In mid to late game, when you have multiple 5-star characters and will need more than one team in the Tower of Adversity, you can relegate Rover (Spectro) to the Sub-DPS role.
With them being a jack of all trades, Rover (Spectro) can fit in any team since their Outro Skill can create Stasis and slow down enemies for some time.
The Main DPS of the team will depend on the characters in your account that will best fill that role, although we recommend selecting Shorekeeper as their support mainly for her Inherent Skill 2 which specifically benefits the Rover by granting an Energy Regen buff while being in range of her Stellarealm.
Character | Explanation |
---|---|
Encore | Main DPS Character Encore is a strong DPS character and is also easy to use. She starts dealing a lot of damage when Encore uses her Ultimate and enters Cosmos Rave. |
Verina | Support Character Verina is able to grant the team an all-type DMG deepen while also dealing off-field Coordinated Attacks and healing her allies. |
Baizhi | Support Character Baizhi is a free-to-play option that can provide some healing and even buff healed characters' damage. |
1 | Shorekeeper enters the battle first and charges her Resonance Liberation. Cast it once available to place down her Stellarealms and enable the Energy Regen buff (if you have her Inherent Skill 2 unlocked), then switch to Rover (Spectro). |
---|---|
2 | While Rover (Spectro) is in the field, build toward their Resonance Liberation, cast when ready, and switch to the team's Main DPS. The stasis Outro Skill of Rover (Spectro) will trigger, slowing down time for 3 seconds. |
3 | Use the Main DPS' optimal combo to maximize their damage on the field. Continue using the Main DPS until the Concerto Energy has been fully charged. |
4 | Switch back to Rover (Spectro) once the Concerto Energy has been fully charged and take advantage of the Stellarealm's buff on their Energy Regen if still available. If you need healing, switch to Shorekeeper instead. |
5 | Repeat the steps until defeating all the enemies on the field. |
Rover (Spectro) Gameplay Guide |
---|
|
When Rover (Spectro) is on-field, you want to charge their Forte Circuit gauge optimally by doing the combos that end with them using Heavy Attack: Aftertune.
This is because Heavy Attack: Aftertune provides a lot of Diminutive Sound to charge Rover (Spectro)'s Forte Circuit gauge!
Whenever Rover (Spectro)'s Forte Circuit gauge is charged halfway, always use their enhanced Resonance Skill called Resonating Spin and then follow it up with Resonating Echoes.
To cast Rover (Spectro)'s enhanced Resonance Skill, press the Resonance Skill button and then the Basic Attack button!
Rover (Spectro)'s ultimate deals some AoE Spectro DMG and is not a prerequisite to trigger any of their abilities. So, it can be used whenever it is available!
Rover (Spectro)'s Outro Skill does not provide any type of buff to the character switching in. But, you still want to trigger it since the stasis generated around the on-field character stops time for 3 seconds!
When you unlock Rover (Spectro)'s fourth Sequence Node, you can turn them into a pseudo healer since casting their Ultimate can heal allies for 5 seconds.
Combo |
---|
BA1 → BA2 → BA3 → BA (Heavy Attack: Resonance) → BA (Heavy Attack: Aftertune) |
Land Rover (Spectro)'s Basic Attack 3 times. Then, follow it up with the enhanced Resonance Skill chain to finish the combo.
Combo |
---|
HA BA (Heavy Attack: Resonance) → BA (Heavy Attack: Aftertune) |
We recommend executing this combo instead of doing the Basic Attack combo since it is faster. Start the combo with Rover (Spectro)'s Heavy Attack and then end it with the Enhanced Resonance Skill chain.
Combo |
---|
Dodge (trigger Dodge Counter) → BA (Heavy Attack: Resonance) → BA (Heavy Attack: Aftertune) |
This combo is also a quick way to activate Heavy Attack: Aftertune but is situational since it requires you to trigger Rover (Spectro)'s Dodge Counter by dodging enemy attacks!
Mourning Aix / Mech Abomination Combo |
---|
Echo Skill → HA → BA 1 → BA 2 → Res. Liberation → Res. Skill → BA → Outro Skill |
Bell-Borne Geochelone / Impermanence Heron Combo |
HA → BA 1 → BA 2 → Res. Liberation → Res. Skill → BA → Echo Skill → Outro Skill |
This is assuming Rover has enough Concerto Energy to use their Outro Skill.
This will be Rover (Spectro)'s basic combo every time they want to use their Outro Skill. Depending on your equipped Echo set, you'll weave in the Echo Skill either at the start or the end of the combo to maximize the bonus that they give.
Mourning Aix / Mech Abomination Combo |
---|
Intro Skill → Echo Skill → Res. Skill → BA (Resonating Echoes) → Basic Attack Combo → Res. Skill → BA (Resonating Echoes) → Res. Liberation (if available) → Switch Out |
Bell-Borne Geochelone / Impermanence Heron Combo |
Intro Skill → Res. Skill → BA (Resonating Echoes) → Basic Attack Combo → Res. Skill → BA (Resonating Echoes) → Res. Liberation (if available) → Echo Skill → Switch Out |
If you don't have Concerto Energy to activate their Outro Skill, you can use this combo to fully charge it so that you can trigger their Outro Skill at the end of the combo. Like the Basic version, the combo will differ depending on your equipped Echo's Skill.

Skill | Priority | Explanation |
---|---|---|
Normal Attack | ★★★★☆ | Similar to Rover (Spectro)'s Forte Circuit, their Basic Attack is also a high-priority upgrade due to it improving a lot of Rover (Spectro)'s abilities such as their normal Basic Attack, HA: Resonance, and HA: Aftertune. |
Resonance Skill | ★★★☆☆ | After upgrading Rover (Spectro)'s Basic Attack and Forte Circuit, their Resonance Skill should be upgraded next as it increases the damage of Resonating Slashes, the skill that Rover (Spectro) will cast if their Forte Gauge is not full. |
Forte Circuit | ★★★★☆ | Upgrading Rover (Spectro)'s Forte Circuit will increase the damage of Resonating Spin, Resonating Whirl, and Resonating Echoes. Given that the abilities mentioned should always be used when Rover (Spectro) is on-field, upgrading Rover (Spectro)'s Forte Circuit is a high priority. |
Resonance Liberation | ★★★★★ | A chunk of Rover (Spectro)'s damage comes from their Ultimate. So, this ability should be upgraded first. |
Intro Skill | ★★☆☆☆ | After upgrading all the abilities above, Rover (Spectro)'s Intro Skill should then be upgraded. Upgrading it only increases their Intro Skill's damage. |
The bulk of Spectro Rover's damage will come from their Resonance Liberation, so focus on upgrading that first. Next, upgrade their Forte Circuit and Normal Attack to deal damage outside of their Liberation.
Lastly, it is also important to level up their Resonance Skill so they can deal decent damage if their Forte Circuit gauge is not full.

Why We Recommend It | |
---|---|
S1 | ★★★☆☆ - Good Rover's CRIT Rate increases by 15% for 7 seconds whenever Rover (Spectro) casts their Resonance Skill. This is a good upgrade to Rover (Spectro)'s overall damage as long as they have a good amount of CRIT DMG as well. |
S2 | ★★★★☆ - Great A straightforward upgrade that buffs Rover (Spectro)'s Spectro DMG. |
S3 | ★★★☆☆ - Good Allows Rover (Spectro) to use their Ultimate much sooner. |
S4 | ★★☆☆☆ - Okay Using Rover (Spectro)'s Ultimate will heal allies based on 20% of Rover (Spectro)'s ATK. An okay upgrade to have but it may be useless if you have a dedicated healer on your team. |
S5 | ★★★★☆ - Great Increases the damage of Rover (Spectro)'s Ultimate. |
S6 | ★★☆☆☆ - Okay Using Rover (Spectro)'s Resonance Skill reduces the target enemy's Spectro DMG RES by 10% for 20 seconds. Other than Rover (Spectro), Verina is the only Spectro Resonator in the game and she is a Support. So, no one will be able to benefit from the Spectro DMG RES reduction other than Rover (Spectro). |
S1 | Odyssey of Beginnings Rover's Crit. Rate is increased by 15% for 7s when casting Resonance Skill Resonating Slashes or Resonance Skill Resonating Spin. |
