The 2024 Dragon Quest III is an HD-2D remake of the 1988 Dragon Quest threequel originally known as Dragon Warrior III in the United States, later re-titled Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation in 2014.
The 2024 remake is developed by Square Enix and updated in the HD-2D style previously seen in their titles such as Octopath Traveler 2 and Triangle Strategy.
Version Differences and Best Version
Dragon Quest 3 is chronologically the first installment of the franchise's Erdrick Trilogy, as the game is a prequel to Dragon Quests 1 and 2. This is why Dragon Quest 3 is getting the remake treatment first. However, Dragon Quests 1 and 2 will still also be getting HD-2D remakes in 2025.
