How Strong is Sanhua?

Strengths
• Outro Skill that provides Basic Attack Amplified is extremely valuable for Basic Attack Damage DPS teams.
• Can deal a good amount of Glacio DMG.
Weaknesses
• Her mechanic is quite hard to use. Players need to keep track of the cursor that will move when Sanhua performs Heavy Attack Detonate
• Need to create the ice structures and detonate them near enemies. Mobile enemies can easily evade said detonation.

Sanhua is a sub-DPS that can carry her own weight during battles. She can quickly stack her Clarity mechanic using Basic Attacks and can deal damage by herself quite easily. She shines in a team when we consider her Outro Skill, which provides Basic Attack Deepen to the next character taking the field. This makes her a very versatile sub-DPS in a team that has a Basic Attack DPS like Encore or Rover (Havoc).

Sanhua Best Weapon Explained

Emerald of Genesis is by far the best weapon for Sanhua, increasing both her damage output while providing Energy Regen so she can cast her Resonance Liberation more. This allows her to create more ice structure that she can later on detonate for huge damage. If you do not have Emerald of Genesis, Commando of Conviction is a good enough replacement that can provide a straight up ATK boost.

The team comp makes use of Sanhua's Outro Skill that provides a 38% Basic Attack Amplified buff for the next character that takes the field. This is extremely useful for teams that make use of a DPS that mostly deals damage using their basic attack, like Encore for example.

Shorekeeper will provide the two DPS Resonators with buffs and healing through her Resonance Liberation field, increasing their damage dealt.

Fills a similar role to Shorekeeper or Verina if you don't have either, but with less powerful offensive buffs.

General Rotation

1 Start with Shorekeeper so that she can generate enough Resonance and Concerto Energy to activate her Resonance Liberation and Outro Skill respectively.
2 Once Sanhua's icon is glowing, activate Shorekeeper's Ult to create a Stellarealm, and swap to Sanhua to activate Shorekeeper's Outro Skill for further buffs.
3 As soon as you take control of Sanhua, immediately use both her Resonance Skill and Liberation if they're available. Once all of your Ice Structures are up, use Heavy Attack: Detonate to blow them all up.
4 If done correctly, you should have enough Concerto Energy built up. Swap to Encore and use her standard Ult Attack rotation to deal massive damage to the enemy.
5 Continue to DPS with Encore until Concerto Energy is charged again. Swap back to Shorekeeper to detonate her Resonance Liberation with an Enhanced Intro Skill.
6 Repeat the steps until the enemy is felled.

Sanhua Double DPS Team

This team features Zhezhi and Sanhua as the main DPS duo of this team. Zhezhi can buff Sanhua's Glacio DMG and the damage of her Ice explosions with her Outro Skill while Sanhua can also buff Zhezhi's Basic Attack DMG. This symbiotic relationship is what makes this team special.

For this team, the best support will Shorekeeper, but Verina and Baizhi are potential alternatives if you don't have her.

General Team Rotation

1 Shorekeeper starts the battle and charges the Concerto Energy until it is full. Use Shorekeeper's Resonance Liberation before switching out.
2 Switch to Zhezhi, making sure to do her optimal combo then culminating into her Resonance Liberation. With Youhu's Coordinated Attack Amplification, Zhezhi's coordinated attacks should be able to deal massive damage.
3 Switch to Sanhua and do her full combo, maximizing Ice Structure damage. Make sure to fill up her Concerto Energy first before switching to Shorekeeper to detonate the Stellerealm with her Intro Skill.
4 Repeat the steps until the enemy is felled.

Sanhua creates Ice Structures that she will eventually detonate all at once using a special charged attack. To maximize her damage, learn what skills generate these Ice Structures and create them everytime.

Detonate the Structures Using Heavy Attacks

Sanhua has a special heavy attack that requires proper timing from the player to execute. Players can hold the attack button and see a cursor moving back and forth over at the forte line. You must let go of the attack while on the blue area called the Frostbite area to execute the special Heavy Attack: Detonate move.

Frostbite Area Expands by Stacking Clarity

The Frostbite area (or the blue area) expands by stacking Clarity which will make it easier for players to time Heavy Attack: Detonate. Clarity can stack twice at max and can generate through various means.

Sanhua is one of the premier Sub-DPS in Wuthering Waves and that is because of her insane Outro Skill that have the next ally's Basic Attack Amplified by 38% for 14s. Once her Concerto Gauge is full, make sure the next character that takes the field is a Main-DPS character to maximize her Outro Skill.

This combo focuses on the swift detonation of Sanhua's ice structures generated by Sanhua's skill. The timing will also ensure that Sanhua has a full stack of Clarity so you can reach the Frostbite area as fast as possible.

Sanhua Skill Priority and Forte List

Skill Priority Explanation
Normal Attack ★☆☆☆☆ Sanhua's Basic Attacks aren't used often since she already gets enough Clarity stacks from her Intro Skill, Resonance Skill, and Resonance Liberation. Upgrade this last since you'll barely be using this.
Resonance Skill ★★★☆☆ This skill is very important for her kit since it deals good damage while also creating an Ice Prism for her Forte Skill to detonate. However, it still does less damage than her Forte Circuit and Resonance Liberation, so you'll want to upgrade this third.
Forte Circuit ★★★★☆ This is the key skill in her damage rotation since this is what Detonates all of her Ice Structures. The key point, however, is that it does less damage than her Ult even if you Detonate all three structures at once. Prioritize upgrading this second since after upgrading Sanhua's Ult.
Resonance Liberation ★★★★★ Similar to her Resonance Skill, Sanhua's Ultimate does a lot of damage and creates a Glacier for her Forte Skill to detonate. The big difference compared to her Resonance Skill is that this is the strongest skill in her kit and you'll want to upgrade this first before anything else.
Intro Skill ★★☆☆☆ While the increased damage from upgrading this skill is nice, Sanhua's Intro Skill is mainly used to get Clarity stacks for her Forte Circuit. However, you'll still be using this more often than her Basic Attack, so upgrade this before you start upgrading that.

Sanhua's kit revolves around creating Ice Structures and detonating them for big damage while she is charging her Concerto Energy to buff her DPS's Basic Attack DMG. With this in mind, you will be upgrading her Resonance Liberation and Forte Circuit first. Follow this up with her Resonance Skill for extra damage!

Why We Recommend It
S1 ☆☆☆☆☆ - Unimportant
You'll barely be using Sanhua's Basic Attacks so you'll rarely activate the CRIT Rate Boost. Even with how good the buff is, it's not worth adding Basic Attack 5 into your rotations. Only get this if you're planning on unlocking future Sequence Nodes.
S2 ★★☆☆☆ - Okay
With how fast you'll use Sanhua during your rotations, you won't notice the reduced Stamina cost for Heavy Attack Detonate. However, the Anti-Interruption part is useful just in case an enemy hits you mid-combo. Overall, this isn't necessary but it's nice to have if you do get it.
S3 ★★★★☆ - Great
This Sequence Node is a wonderful addition to Sanhua's kit since it's a generically great buff to have. Having her damage increased by 35% against enemies below 70% HP will go a long way, especially against Bosses that have large health bars.
S4 ★★★☆☆ - Good
The first part of this upgrade is okay at best since it allows Sanhua to spec into CRIT rather than Energy Regen%. However, the second part is what bumps it up to good since it more than doubles Heavy Attack: Detonate's damage.

The main downside unfortunately is that it only increases the attack's Burst Damage and not the Ice Burst damage from her Ice Structures.
S5 ★★★★☆ - Great
This is by far the best upgrade to unlock for Sanhua's damage output since her Ultimate is already her strongest skill. If you can get enough CRIT Rate%, you'll find her standard combo dealing massive damage even without having to use Heavy Attack: Detonate.
S6 ★★★★★ - Amazing
Her capstone skill is the only upgrade in her Resonance Chain that improves on her amazing Outro Skill. Since you'll always want to Detonate both an Ice Prism and Glacier before activating her Outro Skill, the next character that you'll swap to will always get the 20% ATK Boost.

S1 Solitude's Embrace
Basic Attack V increases Sanhua's CRIT Rate by 15% for 10s.
S2 Snowy Clarity
Stamina cost of Heavy Attack Detonate is reduced by 10. When Sanhua casts Resonance Skill Eternal Frost, her Anti-interruption is enhanced for 10s.
S3 Anomalous Vision
Sanhua's damage dealt is increased by 35% against targets with HP below 70%.
S4 Blade Mastery
Resonance Liberation Glacial Gaze restores 10 Resonance Energy. DMG of the next Heavy Attack Detonate within 5s is increased by 120%.
S5 Unraveling Fate
CRIT DMG of Forte Circuit Ice Burst is increased by 100%. Ice Creations (Ice Thorn, Ice Prism, and Glacier) will explode even if they are not detonated.
S6 Daybreak Radiance
After an Ice Prism or Glacier is detonated, all team member's ATK is increased by 10% for 20s, stacking up to 2 times.

sanhua is mainly main dps if you count her ice damage as sub that's a joke 💀, the real sub dps is way better than her her resonance chain is buffing her potential as main 💀
