Limited-Time Special Quest

A Big Debate is a special quest that must be completed before a certain point in the story. Once this quest is unlocked, it is highly recommended to do it immediately before progressing the main story any further.

Limited-time quests will disappear upon progressing the story, and you will be unable to complete them for the rest of your playthrough.

Unlocked After Completing Slippenglide Island

Slippenglide Island

After you complete Slippenglide Island, you will be able to find this side quest on Shipshape Island. Listen to the group conversation at the Beach from behind the rock in order to start A Big Debate.

If this side quest doesn’t appear for you after you return to Shipshape Island from Slippenglide Island, you may need to progress the story a little bit.

Approach the Group at the Beach

MLB Talk to the Group

Head to the Beach on Shipshape Island and approach the gathered group. They will then shoo you away from their conversation.

Listen In on the Group Conversation

MLB Listen on Coversation

Approach the group again. When Snoutlet prompts you, select Yes to listen in on their conversation. After a lengthy cutscene, the quest will automatically be completed.

A Big Debate Rewards

Bros. Bean and Max Mushroom

Reward Description
Max MushroomMax Mushroom x2 Restores 200 HP
Bros. BeanBros. Bean x1 Adds 1 to max BP.

After completing A Big Debate, you will be rewarded with a Bros. Bean and 2 Max Mushrooms.
