Glohm Gobblick is a side quest in Mario & Luigi: Brothership that can be started on Shipshape Island after completing Slippenglide Island. Read on for a full walkthrough of Glohm Gobblick, including its location, unlock requirements, and rewards.
Glohm Gobblick Side Quest | |
---|---|
Gobblick is Glohmed and is out of control! The recommended level for fighting this tough enemy is 35. |
|
Unlock Requirements | Complete Slippenglide Island |
Quest Start Location | Shipshape Island |
After you complete Slippenglide Island, you will be able to find this side quest on Shipshape Island. Talk to Dewey Fightem at the Plaza in order to start Glohm Gobblick.
If this side quest doesn’t appear for you after you return to Shipshape Island from Slippenglide Island, you may need to progress the story a little bit.
This side quest involves defeating enemies to complete it. It is recommended to have Mario and Luigi to be at least level 35 to easily complete this quest.
The Glohm Gobblick quest is only unlocked as you prepare to go to the Great Lighthouse Island in the Brrrning Sea. This should be after the wedding at Heatfreeze Island and after Connie gifts you with Connie Mittens and the Temperature Guard plug.
Glohm Gobblick Quest Objectives |
---|
To start this quest, talk to Dewey Fightem, a light-green-colored Concordian wearing sunglasses that you first encountered in the Lushgreen Sea Lighthouse.
He can be found to the south of the Shipshape Island plaza, near the three NPCs that give you advice on Battle Plug combos, Mario and Luigi’s level, and their equipment.
Set your course for the Great Lighthouse Island in Lushgreen Sea on the northwest part of the Ocean Map! Since this cannot be connected to Shipshape Island, you will need to sail to it manually.
Once you arrive on the island, take the green shortcut pipe on the upper left side of the Lushgreen Sea Great Lighthouse Island. If you didn’t activate this pipe the first time around, you’ll have to go through the Lighthouse again until you reach sublevel 2.
Once you reach sublevel 2, either through the pipe or by going down the staircase, head right past the plugs. Save and heal up if you want to, then go into the boss area where you first fought Gobblick.

Glohm Gobblick Tips |
---|
Glohm Gobblick is much tougher than the Gobblick you first faced here, and this time, he can inflict the Glohm status condition.
Item | Effect |
---|---|
Refreshing Herb | Cures status ailments like Trip, Dizzy, Burn, and Ice. Sometimes cures other ailments too. |
Ampberry | Cures the Glohm status ailment. |
Make sure that you have enough Ampberries or Refreshing Herbs on hand in order to cure the Glohm effect. Have the Auto Ampberry or Auto Herb plug equipped so that you won’t have to lost any turns using items.
Another good plug to have is the Surefooted Guard, since Glohm Gobblick can also cause the Dizzy status condition.
It’s recommended to use Bros. Attacks as much as possible against Glohm Gobblick to maximize your damage output. If you find yourself running out of BP to spend, top either brother up with any Candy or any Syrup Jar.
Make sure to always dodge and counter Glohm Gobblick’s attacks since they hit hard and can inflict status conditions. For detailed information on all of Glohm Gobblick’s attacks, check out this guide:
Once you’ve defeated Glohm Gobblick, make your way back out of the boss room, through the green warp pipe, then down to cannon on the south side of the Lushgreen Sea Great Lighthouse Island. You, unfortunately, cannot use your Return Pipe to fast travel on Great Lighthouse Islands.
Use the cannon to return to Shipshape Island, then talk to Dewey Fightem to tell him what happened. He will then give you your reward.
Reward | Description |
---|---|
Gobblick Boots DX x1 | When you deal damage, you heal 10% of it back. JUMP +123; STACHE +5 |
Anti-Glohm Specialist x1 | Jump and Hammer attacks against Glohmed enemies are guaranteed critical hits. |
Upon completing the Glohm Gobblick Side Quest, you will be rewarded with a pair of Gobblick Boots DX—an upgraded version of the Gobblick Boots—and the Anti-Glohm Specialist Battle Plug.
