Unlocked After Completing Heatfreeze Island

After you complete Heatfreeze Island, you will be able to find this side quest on Raynforst Island. Talk to the Monster Mania member in a White Suit southwest of the Island in order to start Monster Mania: Level 2.

If this side quest doesn’t appear for you after you return to Shipshape Island from Heatfreeze Island, you may need to progress the story a little bit.

Talk to Maniac No. 2 in Raynforst Island Defeat Three Hydro Seedles

Talk to Maniac No. 2 in Raynforst Island

To start this quest, make your way to Raynforst Island,and find Maniac No. 2 of the Monster Maniac Club. He’s the one in a white coat standing near an invisible block just north of the blue warp pipe entrance and green warp pipe shortcut.

When asked if you can defeat his nearly invincible Hydro Seedles, say Yes to accept the quest. Talk to him again to initiate the battle.

These special Hydro Seedles can heal their ally’s health all the way back to full regardless of how much damage you’ve inflicted, so you must be careful on how to approach this.

Equip the Kaboom Attack Battle Plug

Battle Plug	Effect
Kaboom Attack	Get an EXCELLENT rating with a Jump or Hammer attack to also damage nearby targets.

It is recommended to have the Kaboom Attack Battle Plug equipped, so that your Jump and Hammer moves can damage surrounding enemies. It’s also a good idea to have Surprise Iron Ball, as well as the Dizzifying Attack or the Icy Attack plug equipped to synergize with your Kaboom Attack plug and get a chance of incapacitating the enemies.

Use a Multi-Target Move as Your First Attack

Your first attack should be a multi-target move such as the Bomb Derby Bros. Attack or attacking the middle Hydro Seedle while the Kaboom Battle Plug is equipped.

This is because Hydro Seedles like to heal damaged allies, but usually, only one would do the healing at a time. If all three Hydro Seedles are damaged by your first attack, at least one is likely to remain damaged by your next turn.

List of All Bros. Attacks

Focus on Attacking Damaged Hydro Seedles

On your next turn, target the Hydro Seedle with reduced HP to try and take it out before it can be healed by one of its friends. If you don’t think a single-target attack can do the job yet, get damage on all Hydro Seedles on the field again.

By the next turn, you would hopefully have a Hydro Seedle with low enough HP for you to take out with one Jump or Hammer attack.

Monster Mania: Level 2 Rewards

Ultra Syrup Jar and Stache Bean

Reward	Description
Ultra Syrup Jar x2	Restores 30 BP.
Stache Bean x2	Adds 1 to STACHE.

Once you defeat all Hydro Seedles, you will be rewarded with two Ultra Syrup Jars and two Stache Beans.
