Even with the release of characters like Mualani and the recent addition of Xilonen, it can be argued that Neuvillette can still use more of the supports than most Hydro DPS units can. These supports, namely Kazuha, Furina, and now Xilonen, can work effortlessly with Neuvillette and his damage by virtue of all being supports that buff his damage by a near-tremendous amount.

That is not to say that Neuvillette on his own is weak without these premier supports. He currently has more flexibility and uptime on his abilities and is still capable of being the lone DPS in most teams as compared to units like Mualani and Tartaglia who need proper rotations with Vaporize, and Ayato who has considerable downtime to his abilities.

Neuvillette as a Catalyst DPS is unique in the sense that he uses his HP as both his damage scaling and as a currency for augmenting the damage of these abilities even further.

When building for his stats, make sure to put focus on CRIT stats first, but less so on CRIT Rate if you are running 4-pc. Marechaussee Hunter, then move on to HP% and Energy Recharge, picking up any EM substats along the way.

By easing up his CRIT Rate requirements, Marechaussee Hunter is the best build for Neuvillette as it can dramatically increase his DMG output. His HP mechanic can easily activate the artifact's effects, allowing him to build more CRIT damage.

The higher Neuvillette's current HP is at the time of casting his Charged ATK, the more DMG it will inflict on enemies. Hence, try to focus more on increasing his HP when building him.

If you wish to pay less attention to Neuvillette's HP mechanic and purely focus on his DMG output and playing around Elemental Reactions, a full Wanderer's Troupe set that is also filled with HP might be right up your alley.

The Wanderer's Troupe set's Charged Attack increase is unconditional and will always be present no matter the situation. Additionally, more Elemental Mastery couldn't hurt, especially if you'll be matching Neuvillette's attacks up with Elemental Reactions!

Neuvillette Talent Priority

Neuvillette's Charged Attack should be your top priority when it comes to his Talents, followed by his Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst , with his Skill having a slightly higher priority.

Neuvillette's Skill and Burst provide Sourcewater Droplets, which shortens the charging time of his Charged ATK and increases its DMG. His Elemental Burst comes at a whopping 70 Energy, which may take a while before you get to use it.

Pick Artifacts With Stat Amplifiers

As Neuvillette's main gimmick is to lose and gain HP based on the usage of his Elemental Skill, utilizing something like 4-pc. Marechaussee Hunter does wonders for him due to how consistently he can trigger the 4-pc. effect.

As far as alternatives go, he can make use of 4-pc. Wanderer's Troupe and Heart of Depth to buff his Charged Attacks, with the former giving this benefit freely.

Use CRIT or HP-Scaling Weapons

Unlike most DPS units, Neuvillette uses HP to scale with his damage, but like most DPS units, also makes use of CRIT stats to further the amount of damage he can do.

With that said, Tome of the Eternal Flow is his Signature and is thus tailor-made for him with the beneficial effects, though weapons like the Sacrificial Jade and even the Free-to-Play Prototype Amber can be utilized effectively.

Steady Stream of Hydro Damage

As a Main DPS, Neuvillette thrives in teams that are built around him, being built with Supports that serve to enhance his damage, keep him safe and topped up on health, or crowd control enemies via Anemo or Cryo units.

Any teammate that can help support Neuvillette via the above methods will often make for his best teammates, as he can easily wipe out hoards of enemies on his own if given the opportunities that his supports set him up with.

Taking advantage of one of the most powerful and versatile elemental reactions in the game, Neuvillette's AoE Hydro application per tick is strong enough for Hyperbloom teams.

One Electro and Dendro are enough to round up your party, although you may add someone like Yae Miko or Fischl for more Aggravate damage, or Baizhu for extra protection.

Freezing opponents is always a sound strategy to minimize as much DMG as possible while still dealing DMG of your own. Since Neuvillette specializes in AoE attacks, it would be best to pair him up with Cryo units with wide coverage like Charlotte, Rosaria, or Layla.

You can either use Anemo swirlers like Kazuha, Sucrose, or Venti, so long as you equip them with Viridescent Venerer artifact.

Aim for C1 If You Can!

A setback of Neuvillette's is that he is highly susceptible to interruption while casting his Charged Attack, nullifying the point of absorbing the Sourcewater Droplets you just created using his other Talents.

Hence, a shielder is an absolute must when playing him at C0. If you have enough wishes to go for his C1, then we highly recommend you go for it as it will increase your chances of a successful Charged Attack.

Charged Attack: Equitable Judgment

Neuvillette's Charged ATK is his strongest asset. After a fixed casting time, Neuvillette sends forth a massive torrent that deals Hydro DMG to opponents in front of him in a straight line.

While charging and casting his Charged ATK, Neuvillette can hover and move around the battlefield.

Elemental Skill

Source of Power

Neuvillette's summons waterfalls to deal Hydro DMG to opponents in an AoE. Once it hits opponents, it will generate 3 Sourcewater Droplets near those opponents for his Charged ATK.

Sourcewater Droplets

Absorbing Sourcewater Droplets left behind by Neuvillette's Elemental Skill and Burst will decrease its charging time, and heal him. Neuvillette can absorb a maximum of 3 Sourcewater Droplets at a time. Upon doing so, it will immediately fire his Special Charged Attacks without the need to charge it.

Neuvillette's Sourcewater Droplets not only provide power to him, but also gives him some healing before he starts his onslaught.

Having a healer or managing his Sourcewater Droplets allow plays to be able to fire off Charged Attacks with a possible 30% DMG Bonus at the start of the attack, making this passive worth it if Neuvillette is kept healthy.

Charlotte	If you want to interview the Iudex, you have to provide all the interview questions in advance and get them reviewed by the relevant department at the Palais Mermonia, who decide which questions to approve and which ones you're not allowed to ask... It's their way of making sure the interview goes off without a hitch. It's such a rigmarole. I'm losing the will to live just talking about it.
Chevreuse	Everyone knows that the Iudex abstains himself of all personal emotion when presiding over a trial. Some even say he lacks the warmth of human emotion. But the way I see it, justice should remain uncorrupted by personal feelings. Those who break the law bear guilt. It's as simple as that.
