Complete the Aphid Treasure Unlock Quest

Head to the Children of the Echoes

Head to the Children of the Echoes and talk to Xilonen at her workshop to start the event! After your conversation, she'll direct you to the location of the first stage of the event.

Aphid Treasure Trace Capture 1

Children of the Echoes
Trial Character
Objective	Complete capture within 210s

The first Aphid challenge location is to the east of the Children of the Echoes tribe, near the main road leading into Natlan!

Use Xilonen's Nightsoul Blessing State

Once the challenge starts, switch to Xilonen and use her skill to enter the Nightsoul's Blessing state. This will let you travel around faster and deal more damage to the Aphid!

Remember to collect nearby fruit and Phlogiston to keep your Nightsoul state up!

Aphid Treasure Trace Capture 2

Teticpac Peak
Trial Character
Objective	Complete capture within 210s

For the second stage, the Aphid is found in the area between the waters of Teticpac Peak and the Ancestral Temple.

Use the Net Before Using Kinich's Skill

The Aphid in this stage will constantly be moving, so make sure to have your insect net fully charged before you chase after it! Use the net to hold it down before using Kinich's skill to defeat it.

If you have other Natlan characters who can use the Nightsoul Blessing, bring them with you to support Kinich when his skill is in cooldown.

Tequemecan Valley
Trial Character
Objective	Complete capture within 210s

The actual location of the challenge start is right beside the Teleport Waypoint, on the other side of the waterfall opposite of the event icon on the map.

Slide Through Lightning Strikes

The third stage is similar to the second stage as you use Kinich to grapple to Coilgrass Sigils to get to the Aphid.

This time, lightning strikes will strike at your location while you're capturing the Aphid. Using Kinich during his Elemental Skill can easily slide away from the circle AoEs while spamming Normal Attacks, so try to move as much as you can.

Ameyalco Waters
Trial Character
Objective	Complete capture within 210s

The fourth stage is located north of the Ameyalco Waters, just a few paces from the Teleport Waypoint.

Pass Through with Mualani's Shark Followed By Normal Attacks

After gathering enough energy to charge your Insect Net, follow and stun the Aphid! This stage's Trial Character is Mualani, and her shark skill requires you to pass through the Aphid and mark it before using her Normal Attack for a more enhanced attack!

Aphid Treasure Trace Capture 5

Huitztli Hill
Trial Character
Objective	Complete capture within 210s

The fifth and final stage for this event is located north of Huitztli Hill, on a rock formation west of the Teleport Waypoint.

Turn the Clock to the Next Day and Talk to Xilonen in the Capture Location

Turn the clock to the next day and head over to the last capture location, where you'll find Xilonen waiting! Talk to her to make the challenge marker appear.

Activate Xilonen's Skill to Climb Up and Down Vertical Spaces

During the challenge, you can use Trial Xilonen and activate her skill to go up cliffs and trees! Follow the Phlogiston energy to charge up your Insect Net along the way to the path of the Aphid.

You may also need to defeat Hilichurl enemies to get more Shackleberry fruits!

Complete the Last Ride of the Bugbuster Squad Quest

After completing the fifth challenge for the first time, you will automatically be teleported back to the start location, where a final cutscene will play for the ending quest, Last Ride of the Bugbuster Squad.

You will also obtain the Scarlet Phlogiston Honey Pearl quest item, which has no known uses similar to event items such as the Unattributed Ramen Voucher from the Itto Beatle Event.

How to Play Aphid Treasure Trace

Use Trial Characters to Chase Down Corroded Aphids

In each stage, you must chase and hunt down the Abyss-corroded Aphids in a designated event area within the time limit. Trial characters are provided for every stage to help you navigate the terrain!

Gather Fruits to Charge the Insect Net

Collect Shackleberries to charge your Insect Net, which can be seen to the right of your HP bar! There will be Shackleberries and items containing Shackleberries scattered in the stage area. Attack the plant or container to release the berries and touch to collect them.

Prevent their Escape with the Insect Net

When the Aphid starts summoning a purple portal, that means it's preparing to escape. Use the Insect Net on the Aphid to prevent its escape and stun it again!

Destroy Wards with the Insect Net

Abyss-corroded Phlogiston Aphids will be protected by shields or wards, that prevent your attacks from depleting Abyssal power. You can see their Ward in the upple-middle section of the screen. It is a yellow-filled bar.

Break the Wards to Stun Aphids

Break the Ward to stun the Aphid, during which you can continue attacking it and successfuly deplete the Abyssal power.

Deplete their Abyssal Energy

Nightsoul-aligned attacks and high-frequency attacks should deplete the Aphids's Abyssal Energy the fastest. You can see their Abyssal Energy in the upple-middle section of the screen. It is the bar that sits at the very top.

How to Unlock Aphid Treasure Trace

Complete Archon Quest Prologue Act 3

To unlock Aphid Treasure Trace, you must complete the Prologue Act 3 Archon Quest, Song of the Dragon and Freedom and reach Adventure Rank 20!

However, if you wish to experience the Aphid Treasure Trace at its fullest, you can choose to complete Chapter 5 Act 4 Archon Quest, The Rainbow Destined to Burn, as well!
