Bloom Reaction Guide

Genshin Impact Bloom Elemental Reaction Guide. mode:show

Bloom is an elemental reaction in Genshin Impact that is triggered when Dendro and Hydro meet. See how to trigger Bloom, best characters to trigger it, and the best teams for this elemental reaction!

What is the Bloom Reaction?

Reaction Between Dendro and Hydro

Bloom is the elemental reaction when Dendro meets Hydro, or vice versa. Any unit that has an aura of either of the two elements will immediately result to Bloom!

Some Bouncy Mushrooms that are commonly endemic in the Sumeru Rainforests can spawn Dendro Cores when hit with Hydro!

How to Trigger Bloom

Combine Dendro and Hydro

To trigger Bloom, simply combine Dendro and Hydro in any order. Any unit with an aura of either element that is hit by Dendro or Hydro, will spawn Dendro Cores that explode after a certain duration!

What are Dendro Cores?

Dendro Cores are the resulting reaction between Dendro and Hydro that look like green fruits spawning where Bloom happened. Dendro Cores are indiscriminant when it comes to dealing damage, in that it inflicts damage to both enemies and allies!

Trigger Dendro Cores with Pyro and Electro

Dendro Cores are reactive when hit by Pyro and Electro, which result to Burgeon, and Hyperbloom, respectively. This means Dendro Cores (except Bountiful Cores) created through Bloom are required to create those reactions!

Best Characters To Use for Bloom

Nilou

Nilou is a highly-niche character who shines best in Bloom teams, due to her first ascension passive. And while it limits the team to Dendro and Hydro units only, the Bountiful Cores created from this passive are bigger, have larger AoEs, and explode instantly!

Genshin - Checkmark When you have a good Hydro or Dendro unit who can provide heals and shields for the team.
Genshin - Checkmark When you want consistent Dendro damage with large AoE.
Genshin - Checkmark When you're going against enemy mobs that are widely-scattered.

It's not an understatement to say that Nahida is the best Dendro unit in the game right now. She has great Dendro application, impressive on- and off-field capacity, and she scales with EM, making her a good choice in most team compositions, including Bloom!

When to Use Nahida in Bloom

Genshin - Checkmark When you need good sustain thru heals, and shields for your active character.
Genshin - Checkmark When you want an excellent Dendro-reaction buffer, who scales off HP-stats.
