How Many Pals Are in Palworld

After the version 0.2.0.6 update, there are now 139 Pals that can be caught in Palworld. Read on to learn exactly how many Pals there are, how to complete the Paldeck, and the reward for catching all Pals.

How Many Pals Are in Palworld?

There Are Currently 139 Pals

Before the recent big update, there were 137 Pals in Palworld. However, two new Pals were added in version 0.2.0.6, making the new total 139 Pals in Palworld.

These Pals are scattered throughout the islands. Those found within the overworld can be battled and captured with Pal Spheres. Some Pals require breeding or hatching in order to be obtained.

Bellanoir and Bellanoir Libero Added in New Update

In the big version 0.2.0.6 update, Bellanoir and Bellanoir Libero were added into the game as Palworld's first Raid Bosses. The addition of these two Pals expand the Paldeck to 139 Pals.

Paldeck Only Goes to 11 Due to Variants

While there are 139 Pals in total in-game, the Paldeck only goes up to 112 Pals. This is because there are Pals with variants that possess different elements or attributes that share the same Paldeck number as the original Pal.

A good example of this is Jolthog having No. 12 as its Paldeck number entry and its variant, Jolthog Cryst, using No. 12B as its number entry.

Palworld is a live service early access game, so it is safe to assume that the Paldeck will be populated with more Pals in future updates.

The developers, Pocket Pair, have already announced plans regarding the roadmap of the game and part of those updates will feature new Pals as well as new islands to explore!

Catch Wild Pals in the Overworld

Wild Pals can be found around the islands, scattered across all the biomes. These wild Pals can be caught using Spheres which will be then placed in your Palbox for safe storage.

Some wild Pals can also only be obtained inside dungeons, which are special cavern locations that can be found throughout the map, and some only appear at night.

How to Catch Pals

Fight and Catch Alpha Pals

Alpha Pals are field bosses that are found in certain locations of the map. They can be found either out in the open or in special dungeon rooms.

They are denoted by their significantly larger size and approaching them reveals a large health bar on the top of the screen that emphasizes their status.

Obtain Breeding Only Pals

There are some Pals in the game that can only be obtained through breeding like Elphidran Aqua. To complete the Paldeck, you must discover every single Pal—including their variants.

Breeding can also be an easy way to obtain specific Pals through certain combinations without having to roam around the map and hunt them down.

Breeding Exclusive Pals

Purchase Pals From the Black Marketeer and Pal Merchant

The Black Marketeer and Pal Merchants are vendors that can be found across the islands who sell Pals for gold coins. These can be a good place to get Pals that you have not caught yet if you find yourself with a surplus of gold.

Pal Merchants usually sell Pals that are more commonplace and can be easily be found in the overworld. While the Black Marketeer has a chance to sell particularly rare Pals that are hard to find alongside common ones as well.

Defeat Raid Bosses

Bellanoir and Bellanoir Libero can only be obtained by defeating their Raid Boss counterparts. In order to battle these Raid Bosses, you must build a Summoning Altar at your base and place the slab of the Raid Boss you want to summon.

You cannot catch these Raid Bosses, but you can obtain a Huge Dark Egg upon defeating them. This egg will hatch into the Raid Boss you've defeated.

Reward for Catching All Pals in Palworld

No Reward for 100% Paldeck Completion

As of this writing, there are currently no rewards for getting the Paldeck to 100% completion. This concept was made popular by Pokemon - as there are rewards associated with completing the game's Pokedex as a comparison.

However, as player demand increases, Pocket Pair may release special rewards for completing the Paldeck in future updates.
