How to Move Bases

You can move your base in Palworld by disassembling the Palbox and rebuilding it elsewhere. Read on to find out how to get more bases, how to find a good base location, and upcoming base-related updates.

Disassemble Base-Exclusive Structures

If you have no other Buildable Base Slots, of which you can only have up to three depending on your Base Level, you can start moving bases by first disassembling your previous base and its Pal Box.

Disassembling a Pal Box also destroys any structure tied to that base. Therefore, before disassembling the Pal Box, it is best to disassemble any structures tied to the base to get a full refund on those structures.

To disassemble structures, press the B key to enter Build Mode, then the C key to enter disassembly mode. Afterward, press the Left Mouse button to disassemble a structure and get refunded for the materials.

Destroy the Pal Box

If you have spent all your Buildable Base Slots, free up a slot by disassembling an existing Pal Box you have in one of your bases.

If you are going to dismantle your only Pal Box, you will still keep your Pals inside your storage and will not lose them after destroying it. Once you build a new Pal Box, your previously-caught Pals will still be there.

Build the New Base

Establish your new base by building another Pal Box in your desired location. Remember to bring the necessary building materials for the Pal Box and other essential structures.

Move Stored Items to the New Base

The last step in moving your base is to move the essential items you have stored in your main base. You can leave common building materials such as stone and wood as they are too heavy in bulk to be worth moving to the new base.

For a faster way to move bases, you can use a Pal to ride for increased mobility, such as Chillet with the Chillet's Saddle Key Item. Mountable Pals can also have a movement speed passive skill such as Runner or Swift.

Do note that if you are carrying past your current Weight limit, your mount Pal will also be overencumbered even if you're not the one moving. Like when farming items, make sure to keep your inventory below your weight limit, or allocate stat points to that stat.

An extra Buildable Base Slot is unlocked at Base Level 10 and a third slot at Base Level 15, allowing you to build two more Pal Boxes to establish additional bases.

Increase your Base Level by completing the Base Missions you can access by pressing the V key on a Pal Box.

Access to Materials

The primary reason you want to consider a base location is what materials you can farm from that base. Find spots where your Pals can farm multiple important materials like Wood, Stone, Paldeum Fragments, and Ore in your base.

Also, consider building bases in areas with no close fast travel points. Your base will also act as a fast travel point, so building bases can help you access harder-to-reach areas much easier.

Open Area

A good base spot allows you to have the space to build multiple structures. As you progress through the game and upgrade your base, you may need more space to build higher-tech structures.

Choke Points

Choke points will primarily help you defend your structures from raids. Having a choke point allows you to select what structures raiding enemies can deal damage to.

Build gates and walls to defend your Pals and structures that may have required precious materials.

Surrounding Pals

There are materials you can exclusively obtain from pals. Build a base in areas where Pals with important materials spawn close by so you can easily hunt and transfer Pal materials.
