What are Dungeons?

Separate Areas You Can Explore

Palworld - Lv 29 and Below Dungeons

Dungeons present challenging environments for players to explore. Entrances to dungeons can be marked on the map, but once inside, there will be no map for it.

This requires players to venture solo and explore their way to the end of the dungeon where the Dungeon Boss awaits.

Dungeons are numerous and scattered across Palpagos Island. Their appearance varies depending on the region of the map where they are discovered.

Chest Rewards

Palworld - Chest in Dungeon

Within dungeons, players have the opportunity to collect various rewards stored inside chests scattered throughout the cave. These chests hold the potential for exclusive rewards, including Skill Fruits, Accessories, and Schematics.

The chest rarity and rewards are random so bringing keys for certain chests is also advisable.

Dungeon Availability

Dungeons Are Timebound

Palworld - Dungeon Timer

Each dungeon has a timer for it to respawn. Once the timer expires, the dungeon will temporarily be closed off.

During this period, adventurers have the option to explore other dungeons while awaiting the reopening of the inaccessible dungeon.

How to Unlock Dungeons

299 Minute Timer

For dungeons to respawn, the waiting time will be 299 minutes or almost 5 hours. Many dungeons can be located in Palworld so this is manageable.

Additionally, since dungeons typically feature similar structures, adventurers have a consistent experience regardless of which dungeon they explore.

The timer still runs even when logging out of the game, so dungeons are constantly spawning on and off even when you are not playing.

How to Exit Dungeons

How to Exit Dungeons

Defeat the Dungeon Alpha Boss

Palworld - Suzaku Aqua Dungeon

A guaranteed method of completing the dungeon is by defeating the Dungeon Alpha Boss situated in the final chamber.

Upon achieving victory, you gain entry to a room where a portal stands ready to teleport you out of the dungeon.

Leave the Dungeon From the Entrance

Palworld - Leave Dungeon

Should you find yourself under-leveled for a particular dungeon, you have the option to exit at any time by inspecting the dungeon entrance and selecting the option to Leave.

This allows you to retreat and regroup before attempting the challenge again at a more opportune time.

Respawn

Palworld - Respawning

In some cases, dungeons can be quite a labyrinth and you can get lost a lot especially when you are in too deep and can't find the entrance.

In such situations, the most effective means of exiting the dungeon is by accessing the Settings menu and selecting the Respawn option. This prompts your character to respawn at a location of your choosing

Dungeon Glitches and Exploits

Rerolling the Dungeon Alpha Boss

You have the option to reroll or swap the current dungeon Alpha Boss within dungeons.

To do so, enter the boss room and check if your desired boss has appeared. If not, you can exit the room, return to another area, and then revisit the boss room to see that the dungeon boss has changed.

How to Reroll Dungeon Bosses

Clipping Glitch

There is currently a glitch in the game where you can clip yourself out of bounds and go to the boss room immediately, ignoring all the dungeon exploration.

You can do this by riding a flying Mount Pal and choosing the Pet option to make your Pal clip through the wall, then you quickly ride it so you too will go out of bounds. From here, you can go straight to the Boss room.
