The Pal Essence Condenser can be unlocked for 1 Ancient Technology Point via Technology once the Player reaches Lv. 14.

Once the Player has collected enough resources, simply bring up the wheel menu by pressing B and place down the Pal Essence Condenser.

How to Use the Pal Essence Condenser

Rank Up Pals Through Combining

The Pal Essence Condenser can rank up a selected Pal by combining it with several other Pals of the same species.

This combination process essentially sacrifices the Pal being used as fodder to strengthen the selected Pal.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Sort by Number
2. Select your Base Pal
3. Select your Fodder Pal
4. Begin Distillation

1. Sort by Number

Head over to the Pal Box and sort your Pal “By Paldeck No.” to make selecting Pals for distillation easier.

2. Select your Base Pal

Select the Pal that you want to enhance.

Since this Pal will be one that the Player keeps, make sure to select a Base Pal with desirable Passive Skills.

3. Select your Fodder Pal

Note: Old patches required 8 Pals to condense at 1 Star

Select the Pal that you do not need or are willing to lose.

These Fodder Pal will be denoted by an orange checkmark, while your Base Pal will be denoted by a blue check mark. Make sure to double-check which Pals you're distilling!

4. Begin Distillation

Once both the Base Pal and the appropriate number of Fodder Pal have been selected, the “Begin Distillation” button should turn blue.

All that's left is to press the button and you will have successfully ranked up your Base Pal!

Max Upgrade at Once is Now Possible

Previously, raising a Pal's rank is limited to one level per condesnation. After the 0.2.0.6 update, you can now condense as many Pals as you can until you reach the maximum upgrade.

This small quality-of-life update can be useful if you want to upgrade a Pal quickly while selecting as many fodder Pals as you can; you don't need to go through the menu several times anymore!

Increase Partner Skill Level

Lamball's before and after Partner Skill

Increasing a Pal's rank will subsequently increase its Partner Skill Level.

This effectively increases that Partner Skill's efficacy, such as an increase in damage or effectiveness.

Increase Pal's Base Stats by 5%

In addition to increasing the Partner Skill Level, a Pal that has successfully undergone distillation will also receive a 5% increase to their Max HP, Attack, and Defense.

Adding this up, there will be a 20% base stat increase for your Pals once you reach the 4th rank. Do note that Hunger is not affected when ranking up.

How to Train Perfect Pals and Maximize Stats

Increases Work Suitability Level of a Pal at Four Stars

Condensing a Pal in a Pal Essence Condenser will also increase the level of its Work Suitability once it reaches the maximum of 4 stars. For example, if you rank up a Direhowl to 4 stars, its Work Suitability, Gathering, will increase from Lv.1 to Lv.2.

This is also the only way to get a Pal with a Lv. 5 Work Suitability. As long as the Pal has a Lv. 4 Work Suitability by default, it will rank up to Lv. 5 once it has been condensed to reach 4-Stars.
