Strange Phenomenon: Miasma is an exploration mechanic in Chenyu Vale, Liyue. Monsters affected by the miasma are stronger. Defeat the leader to follow the trail to purify the miasma with adeptal energy.

It appears as corrupted area within Chenyu Vale with a marked monster roaming inside of it. This monster is the leader monster, and defeating it will give the player an opportunity to purify the area, which may spawn another leader monster or complete the purification of the area. The player may have to defeat leader monsters multiple times. After completing the purification, the area will be cleansed as the purple tint is removed and a Chest reward may spawn.

Tutorial[]

Miasma
Tutorial Miasma 1
Since antiquity, an anomaly known as "miasma" has been endemic to the mountains and rivers of Chenyu Vale. If an ordinary person inadvertently inhales this gas, they will often suffer from headaches and chest pain for days.

Tutorial Miasma 2
Miasma may not be fatal to humans, but long-term exposure to it does affect wild animals and monsters, making them more violent than usual. The more powerful the monster, the more severe the effects.
Try defeating the leader of the monsters, before following the trail to the source of the miasma in the area and purifying it with adeptal energy.
