Primogem

Primogems are the premium currency in Genshin Impact.

Uses[]

Primogems can be used to:

• Replenish Original Resin, for 50–200 Primogems to replenish 60 Original Resin.
• Buy Acquaint Fate or Intertwined Fate in Paimon's Bargains or the Wishes menu, for 160 Primogems each.
• Purchase Battle Pass levels for 150 Primogems each level.

Obtaining Primogems[]

Renewable Sources[]

Players can also obtain Primogems by converting them from Genesis Crystals, however it should be noted that it cannot be converted vice versa.

Non-Renewable Sources[]

• One-time Star's Bounty for Floor 1–8 of Spiral Abyss (2,400 total) (every 3 stars on a floor rewards 100 Primogems)
• Debut Performance Results for completing Acts 1–8 of the Imaginarium Theater for the first time (1,100 total)
• Completing Archon Quests, Story Quests, Hangout Events and World Quests
• Adventurer Handbook Experience rewards (900 total)
• Exploration
  • Unlocking tutorials (rewards 1 or 2 depending on the tutorial unlocked)
  • Completing One-Time Domains
  • Opening chests (rewards 0, 2, 5, 10, 20 or 40 depending on the quality of the chest opened and its location)
  • Discovering Teleport Waypoints and Statues of The Seven (1,800 total)
  • Leveling up Statues of The Seven (1,800 total)
  • Certain other interactables, such as Someone's Drifting Bottle
• Participating in Events
• Promotional Codes given out periodically
• Occasional Mails
  • Version Maintenance Compensation
  • Compensation Primogems due to developer oversight
  • Primogems rewarded from a certain milestone
• Completing Achievements (10,480 total)
• Serenitea Pot
  • Trust Rank rewards (600 total)
  • Gift Sets rewards from Companions (40 per owned character, excluding the Traveler)
• Genius Invokation TCG
  • Player Level rewards (600 total)
  • TCG Player's Manual rewards (240 total)
• Adventure Rank Rewards
• HoYoLAB Community Daily Check-In (bonus 100 Primogems given out for your first time visiting the site)

Trivia[]

• The word Primogem is likely a portmanteau of the words "primordial" and "gem."
• The Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese term for Primogem is 原石 lit. "primordial stone." This term likely derives from the same usage of "primordial" as 原神 lit. "primordial god," the title of the game as well as the term "allogenes."
  • This term can also literally mean "rough gemstone," but that definition is not likely related to its usage in the game.
