Narukami Island (Japanese: なるかみじま Narukami-jima) is an area located in Inazuma.

The area spans across Ritou, its port of entry, to Mt. Yougou which is home to the Grand Narukami Shrine, and on its coast is Inazuma City. It also has a mass of dense forests under the moonlight and underwater ruins alike.

It is where the Inazuma Shogunate primarily takes rule, enforcing policies and laws in accordance to the Sakoku Decree. Inazuman public festivals and cultural events are being held here.

Subareas[]

There are 11 subareas in Narukami Island:

Name Description
Amakane Island

Amakane Island is a small festival island located off the western coast of Byakko Plain.

Araumi

Araumi is a promontory at the northern point of Narukami Island, seemingly isolated from the rest of it by Mt. Yougou to the immediate south. The area is rich with ancient ruins found nowhere else on the island, which extend deep beneath the earth and surrounding waters.

Byakko Plain

Byakko Plain is a low, sparsely wooded field in the southwest of Narukami Island. The main road from Konda Village to Inazuma City runs through its center.

Several Kitsune can be found roaming near the outskirts of the city.

Chinju Forest

Chinju Forest is a sacred grove nestled in a small river valley just south of Mt. Yougou. The path to the Kamisato Estate leads through these woods.

Due to some unknown reason, this forest is shrouded in an eternal night, with the glow of an unseen moon casting a serene ambience within its borders.

Grand Narukami Shrine

The Grand Narukami Shrine is a religious organization that worships the Electro Archon and leads the Narukami people's faith. The shrine is located at the peak of Mt. Yougou.

Yae Miko is the head of the Shrine and is considered the most experienced member.[1] The use of military force is not permitted around the areas of the Grand Narukami Shrine as it dishonors the Shogun herself, thus the shrine is not under the jurisdiction of the Shogunate but still under the authority of the Electro Archon whom the shrine worships.[2]

The Shrine has several responsibilities which includes assisting visitors who come to the shrine to pray to the Electro Archon, protecting the Sacred Sakura and the Thunder Sakura, as well as performing rituals and ceremonial affairs, such as the Sacred Sakura Cleansing Ritual. According to Inagi Hotomi, many of the visitors pray for the Sakoku Decree to be lifted as it has caused them economic hardship.

Inazuma City

Rising high atop the cliffs at the southern tip of Narukami Island, Inazuma City is the seat of power of the Shogunate and the Raiden Shogun.

The city is renowned for its low crime rate and great many family businesses, and is considered to be the most lively and prosperous area in the nation. Most of Inazuma's population lives here, and as their numbers continue to grow the city tends to expand outward.[3]

Jinren Island
Kamisato Estate
Konda Village

A quaint village, it is known for its signature dish, Konda Cuisine.

Mt. Yougou

The Grand Narukami Shrine sits at the top of the mountain along with the Sacred Sakura.

Beside the mountain at the base is a large pool of Electrified Water that drains HP. After completing Sacred Sakura Cleansing Ritual, the pool becomes de-energized.

The Version 2.0 livestream mentions that the mountain is related to the legend of tengu.

Ritou

Ritou is the area for central processing of all non-Inazuma nationals entering and leaving the nation.[4] The Alcor was once docked in Ritou.[5]

If Chisato's Letter is not completed, then the Kanjou Commission Ashigaru will stop the Traveler from leaving Ritou on foot. The Traveler can still leave Ritou via teleportation. However, if Ritou Escape Plan is also not completed, then there is no way for the Traveler to access the rest of Inazuma, as no Teleport Waypoints outside of Ritou are unlocked until the said quest is complete.

Once the Traveler obtains the Travel Permit from Kujou Kamaji in Chisato's Letter, they will finally be able to leave Ritou on foot without being stopped by Kanjou Commission guards.
