Search for Monster Tracks

The first step to locating monsters is by searching monster tracks related to them. These tracks could vary from footprints to scratches that can be found on the ground or on trees. The Scoutflies will be able to detect these tracks as you get close, so make sure to keep an eye out for visual cues.

It's also important to note that you should look for the tracks of the monster you are hunting. There might be multiple monsters within the locale you are on, meaning there will be multiple set tracks that might not be related to your hunt.

Examine the Monster Tracks

Once you found a monster track, examine it to gather more information for your Scoutflies. Expect that you would need to examine multiple tracks in order for your Scoutflies to start tracking the monster you're hunting.

Follow the Scoutflies

Once you examined enough monster tracks, the game will show you the monster's icon on the minimap. Follow the Scoutflies, as they should lead you to the exact location of the monster.

Use Paint Pods

Paint Pods are optional items that can help you to distinguish the monster you're hunting from other similar monsters in the area. You can equip the Paint Pod onto your Slinger and shoot it at the particular monster you're hunting for easier tracking.
