Weather Guide for Monster Hunter Wilds |

|
The Weather System in Monster Hunter Wilds incorporates a cycling mechanic that causes the weather in a locale to change constantly during exploration.
There are three weather conditions that a locale can experience, beginning with the Fallow period. This is followed by an Inclemency event, which leads to the third weather condition, the Plenty period.
The Fallow and Plenty weather states are opposite weather conditions separated by an Inclemency. During the Fallow, resources are scarce for anything living in the wilds, causing monsters to fight each other over food.
The Plenty, on the other hand, is a period of life and abundance, with flora and fauna flourishing across the locale. Herbivorous monsters emerge to graze on the plant life, as the skies above remain clear and sunny.
The transition from the Fallow to the Plenty is marked by an Inclemency, a meteorological phenomenon that differs based on the locale that hunters are currently in.
The Inclemency is an intense weather event that brings certain conditions, such as thunderstorms or heavy rain, into an area. Apex Monsters also often appear during a locale's Inclemency event.
The current state of the weather in a locale can be viewed by opening the Map, and scrolling through the details of the area. The Map will display the current weather, as well as how long until the weather changes.
Players can also see what weather state the locale is currently in by looking at the bottom-left corner of the screen, to the left of the minimap. These icons indicate what the current weather period is in the area.

Sandtide | Downpour | Firespring |
The Sandtide is the unique Inclemency in the Windward Plains. During the Sandtide, massive thunderstorms blow across the plains, with lightning flashing through the sky and striking the ground at random.
The Sandtide also heralds the appearance of Rey Dau, the apex monster of the Windward Plains. Just like the storms of the Sandtide, this monster commands electricity to rule over the plains at the top of the food chain.
The Scarlet Forest Inclemency is called the Downpour, which, as its name implies, brings forth heavy rains that flood the locale.
Uth Duna may also emerge during the Downpour. This leviathan reigns as the apex monster in the Scarlet Forest, and has adapted to fight in the water that the Downpour brings.
In the Oilwell Basin, players will experience the Firespring as the locale's Inclemency. During this period, magma flows through the ground, and fire blazes through the basin as the Everforge roars to life.
Though unconfirmed as of writing, the unknown Black Flame is likely the apex monster that appears during this region's Inclemency. It has been teased as an octopus-like monster covered in oil, that can use flames to fight.
