Origin[]
The Colbur Berry is based on a cocklebur, which it also gets its name from. Its spiny exterior and ability to stick onto Pokémon is similar to the cocklebur, being able to latch onto human clothing or animals to be carried around. Its ability to reduce damage from Dark type attacks may reference the annoying and intrusive nature of cockleburs sticking to clothing and their status as a worldwide invasive plant species.
