Master King (教官王,Kyōkan-ō?, lit. "Instructor King"), also known as Master King Koco (教官王ココ,Kyōkan-ō Koko?, lit. "Instructor King Koco"), is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. He is the fifth Master Koco and is located on the fifth Trial Tower. Tens of thousand years prior to the Starfall Islandsincident, he was an Ancient who was the leader of his people, led them away from their doom, oversaw the colonization of earth, directed the installation of Cyber Space and ordered the construction of the Titans.
Like the rest of the Ancients, Master King is a tall lanky figure, similar in appearance to Chaos, having an almost water-like body with long limbs and a small head with pointed protrusions.
His Koco form, Master King is easily one of the largest, aside from the Hermit and Elder. He is wide and stout, with moss formations around his eyes in a pattern like bushy eyebrows, mustache and beard, as well as on top of his head around his crown-like accessory, and his feet. He also sports gold bits around his eyes, down his face, pinning his beard, a triangular piece above his eyebrows, and on the trim of his crown, which looks like a trophy. Additionally, gold lines his wide, white pedestal he rests on, and the circular contraption behind him, which looks like a halo.

Tens of thousands years ago, Master King was an Ancient who was the leader of his people. When The End came to destroy the home of the Ancients, he led his race to escape far from their planet to avoid planetary destruction. When the Ancients arrived on earth due to some inconvenience, he oversaw the colonization of the planet. He directed them to install of Cyber Space so that they feel like home. He also ordered them to build the Titans to protect them from any possible invader.[1]
Sonic Frontiers[]
During Sonic's quest on trying to turn his cyber corruption into power, he arrived at the fifth Trial Tower, along with Sage. Master King allowed Sonic to come forth, but pushed aside Sage. Once Sonic stepped forth, a memory of Master King from the distant past appeared. He was asked by the hedgehog if he could turn his cyber corruption into power. Master King agreed to do so in condition Sonic completes his trial.
Upon completing his trial, Master King synced the cyber corruption to Sonic as new power, but warns him that this kind of power was not built for him, and if upon using it recklessly, will leave him entirely.
Personality[]

As a Koco, Master King speaks in a high pitch voice. As an Ancient, Master King speaks in a deep voice. He seems to be intolerant of Sonic the Hedgehog's brash and impulsive behavior.
When he is around Sonic the Hedgehog, he feels disdain for him, as he feels Sonic is insolent and rude towards him. However, he does have respect for him, as he gave him advice of not using all of the cyber corruption recklessly. Sonic also reminds him of Crane, where their attitude troubled him more then as much as Sonic does now.[2]
Crane[]
You remind me of another. They vexed me then as much as you do now. They also gave everything to stave off the end.
From what he said from his experience, Crane vexed him as much in the past as Sonic did now. Nevertheless, Master King admits that he respects Crane for the sacrifice they made for the greater food.
Sage[]
Master King considers Sage an invader, unwilling to have her around, and thus commands her to leave when she and Sonic encounter him.
Master King's trial is considered to be the most frustrating and most difficult part in Sonic Frontiers amongst players, due to how strict the Perfect Parry is in higher difficulty, with the battle against Wyvern within that trial being the catalyst.
Master King shares some similarities with Dr. Eggman. Both are shown to be egotistical and arrogant and both display technological skill. Additionally, both are shown to have a disdain, yet respect, for a respective hero; Sonic the Hedgehog for Dr. Eggman, and Crane for Master King.
