After two false starts I've finally got a few thousand words on my spook_me story that I'm reasonably happy with. And I've been doing good on my daily word counts so today I decided to give myself one of my rewards. Of course, saying "I'll just watch SHIFT" led to "I'll just watch SHIFT and the first episode of WANTED" which led to "I'll just watch SHIFT and the first two discs of WANTED".

Now I'm behind on writing. BUT I HAD FUN, OH YES I DID.

Shift is, um, well, MELONI LOOKS GREAT. And he plays Not-Keller, a prisoner locked up in the cleanest and fanciest prison ever. He's doing telemarketing while behind bars (didn't see Degenhart running the thing, though) and starts to fall for one of the women he calls. The ending made me throw up my hands. REALLY? THAT'S THE WAY YOU WANT TO END THIS? REALLY? But still. MELONI. LOOKING GREAT.

Wanted kinda tries too hard, and the guys on their Most Wanted list are the stupidest criminals ever. But OMG LEEEEEEEE! Looks great, sounds great, great character. Eddie Drake is fun and sarcastic and sexy and hellllooooo Lee. Hello Lee's shirts with the arms cut off. Hi. *bats eyelashes* I honestly have no idea why the team has such an issue with Eddie because who doesn't love a smartass? No, really. Oh and also, Hi Wolfgang Cutler! I'm hiding my spoons. Aaaaand... Cutler dies. DAMN. I wanted Cutler to work with Lee. I am having SUCH fun with this show. It looks like it had a budget of about $6.00 per episode. I am sitting back and just enjoying the Lee.

Want to watch more now but SVU is on in 15 minutes. KELLERIFIC STABLER COMING UP OMG. What a great night. :)

Word Count Update
Goal (October 01 to 07): 4700 words
Actual: 4579 words (only -121 words. See, I still deserved those rewards!)

Woo!
Sorry I haven't been around for a week. I spent all last weekend communing with Meloni and SVU. It was bliss. BLISS, PEOPLE. I love when Stabler gets to a. deal with family drama or b. go undercover. In S10, he did both. S10 is very Stabler-centric. *happy face* And how awesome was that episode with Stabler's mom? PRETTY DAMN AWESOME.

(Also, I loved the SVU S11 premiere. No one else that I know liked it. Hmmm.)

And then I found a present in my mailbox. suespur arranged for slip_f18 to share with me some Tergesen & Meloni DVD goodies -- Lee's "Wanted" (squee!) and Chris Meloni's movie "Shift"! (squee!) I literally danced, and then I called Krystle and gushed, and then I danced some more. And then my hands shook and I actually got teary-eyed. Because seriously, WHO DOES THIS? Who friends some newbie in their fandom and then sends them awesome stuff just to say "Thanks for joining us, thanks for writing fic, thanks for making our fandom a little bigger". I mean, REALLY. I am just in awe and in shock and ohmygod I might cry again.

Now I know what I'm doing this weekend! *anticipation very high*

Thank you SO much for an AMAZING gift, Diane and Sue. This has been a rough few days -- lots of worries and stress, not much fun to be had now and unlikely in the near future. This gift has already made my week a lot brighter and certainly made me feel very loved and wanted. I feel very lucky to have been so welcomed into the Oz fandom. :)

I'm behind on everything -- writing, comments, etc. -- but my goal is to move forward into October full steam ahead. This means writing every day, finishing the HT100 Drabbles and starting on the HT100 Flashfics, working on my other comm prompt lists, and preparing for Nanowrimo '09. I think I'll be making a post about that tomorrow. *nods*

Okay, I'm off to bed.
