Summon a huge wave of energy from the Phantom Ruby to cut down anyone standing in your way.

— Description, Sonic Forces: Speed Battle

The Reality Warp is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Projectile Item used primarily to attack rivals.

Description[]

The Reality Warp takes the appearance of a wave of red energy cubes resembling the ones created by Infinite's Phantom Ruby copy with a red energy trail behind them, both as an icon and on the tracks.

Overview[]

In gameplay, the Reality Warp can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Infinite. As with most other Items, Metal Sonic and Metal Sonic Mach 3.0 can also use the Reality Warp if they use the Steal Item, or Fortune Teller Amy if she uses Lucky Draw or Wall of Cards to steal it from the aforementioned user..

SFSBRealityWarpEffect

The effect created when hit by the Reality Warp, from Sonic Forces: Speed Battle.

Once obtained, the player can utilize the Reality Warp by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the user sets loose the Reality Warp's cube wave which will travel down three separate lanes in front of the user side-by-side, passing through any rival character and obstacle until it wears off. If a rival character touches the Reality Warp's cube wave, they will take damage, thus causing them to lose Rings and stop moving for a moment. In addition, this power-up will temporarily apply a red filter with red energy cubes along the edges of the screen, replace all Item Boxes and Dash Panels with Spikes, and make Badniks indestructible to its victims. All of these effects linger for a short amount of time, before wearing off. To avoid the Reality Warp, the playable character has to step out of its lanes or jump over it.

The Reality Warp can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 6 and 12 respectively. When the user is leveled up to level 6, the width of the Reality Warp's cube wave will be increased to three lanes, and when the user is upgraded to level 12, the height of the middle lane's wave will increase, making it no longer to be jumped through by rivals.

Trivia[]

  • From 4.27.0 update, the Reality Warp has an issue that middle wave is unmatched to the Reality Warp's second upgrade (which the user upgraded to level 12).
