History[]

Final Fantasy XIV (version 1.0)[]

Yayake from Final Fantasy XIV legacy 2

Yayake handing out study books to the adventurer.

Yayake meets the adventurer at the Thaumaturgers' Guild and tells him about its teachings. When the adventurer asks about necromancy, Yayake says that this is nonsense and that what was given to Thal cannot be brought back. Guildmaster Mumuepo appears on the scene and guesses that it was F'lhaminn who asked the adventurer to ask about the dark arts and says that just mentioning it is already taboo.[1]

When the adventurer joins the Thaumaturges' Guild, Yayake teaches about two of the basic pillars of the Order of Nald'thal—virtue and wealth. Virtue accrued in this life determines one's place in the realm of Thal after death. And to win virtue, one must amass and leave behind as much wealth as they are capable. After the explanation, Yayake introduces the adventurer to his first master in the Arrzaneth Ossuary, the Prelate I'llofii.[2]

Yakake commissions the adventurer to travel to Limsa Lominsa to sell tombs from the Ossuary to the citizens there. The adventurer returns without being able to sell a single tomb and reports about his vision that shows another novice thamauturge selling items from looted tombs. Because he has no proof of the accusation, Yakake scolds the adventurer for not being able to sell and asks him to learn from the aforementioned novice thamaturge who has just returned from Ishgard.[3]

Later Yayake asks the adventurer to help I'llofii investigate an accident that claimed the lives of patrons of the Ossuary.[4]

Final Fantasy XIV[]

Yayake asks the Warrior of Light to ascertain the truth of a prophecy told by a Ququruka Tataruka, a prisoner who claims to hear the voice of Nald'thal. The prophecy says that an adventurer will obtain the legendary Gem of Shatotto. Once the Warrior of Light returns with the Gem, Yayake becomes concerned that Ququruka has somehow made contact with the outside world and that he may be manipulating adventurers. When Yayake says that he would call an emergency council for the Order, Ququruka appears in the guild and orders the Warrior of Light to speak with Lalai Lai at Sacrarium.[5]
