When Nanaphon visited the Gold Saucer on the day of its grand opening he was delighted by everything he saw, the most remarkable being the sight of Senator Sabotender and the way he left a trail of joy. Because Nanaphon always ended up annoying people, he found his calling when he saw that Senator Sabotender could brighten up a room without having to utter a single word. Since then, Nanaphon participated in all the casting auditions in the hope of winning the role. But he never did.[2]

After failing auditions, Nanaphon meets with the Warrior of Light. During the conversation, Godbert Manderville appears and suggests that a visit to Ririzan at the Black Brush Station may provide a solution to Nanaphon's problems. After reporting the situation to Ririzan, it is revealed that he was actually the original creator of the character Senor Sabotender. Under Ririzan's brief but intense tutelage, Warrior of Light and Nanaphon worked to master the mascot's basic movements. Now mentally and physically prepared, Nanaphon rushed to the Gold Saucer to try his luck at the audition.[2]

Nanaphon took his tutor's words to heart and impresses the judges with his muted, masterful portrayal of a walking cactus. Roland grants him the role on the spot. Nanaphon thanks for helping him win the role of his dreams. Although he cannot speak to the Warrior of Light when in costume, Nanaphon promises to treat him with the best Senor Sabotender he can be.[2]

With the Make It Rain Campaign underway, Ollier and his fellow attendants worked to spread the word throughout the cities of Eorzea. Ollier asked the Warrior of Light to help Nanaphon, who was discouraged after failing to get the public's attention in Limsa Lominsa with his performance as Senor Sabotender. Nanaphon is pleased when Warrior of Light offers to be his voice and contribute to the promo. The Warrior of Light accompanies Senor Sabotender by Limsa Lominsa and publicizes the Manderville Gold Saucer campaign to various residents and succeeds in attracting new patrons, including Lyngsath Hyllbornsyn, Rhoswen Leach, Wawalago Momolago, and Kyokyoroon.[4]

Although Senor Sabotender doesn't speak a word, his watchful gaze makes it clear that he deeply appreciates everything the Warrior of Light has done to help him. Ollier enters the scene, announcing that all staff members have been summoned back to the Gold Saucer immediately. Back at the Saucer, Ollier expresses his deep gratitude for having gained a plethora of new patrons for the establishment. Senor Sabotender, meanwhile, welcomes the new guests with his inimitable style.[4]
