We find out each character's backstory through flashbacks. The ending isn't bad but the motive is weak and hard to figure out with just the clues given. Colonel Race isn't a very appealing protagonist either. He has no personality and is barely involved in the stories he's a part of. Of all the recurring characters in Christie's universe, he's definitely the dullest....more
