The Libraries are open to Northumbria students and staff, and we also welcome external visitors to City Campus and Coach Lane Libraries.
You will need your University Smartcard to access the Library and Student Central areas. If you do not yet have your Smartcard or have lost it please contact Ask4Help via your student portal (or phone 0191 227 4646).

Access is restricted to current Northumbria staff and students at all times; entry is by Smartcard.
Coach Lane Library
8:00am - 8:00pm Monday - Friday
9:00am - 5:00pm Saturday/Sunday

Law Practice Library.
9:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday
The Law Practice Library is only open to current Northumbria students and staff (with a valid smartcard), and to members of the Law society.
In the event of a fire the alarm will sound, everyone must leave the building immediately. Please observe the fire exits and do not use the lifts. If you may need help to leave the building in an emergency, please report to Ask4Help, when you first enter the building.
All library users are strongly encouraged to download and check in with the SafeZone app; further information for students is available in the portal. The app can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play.
For your safety University staff have the authority to refuse entry to the building.
