- The names of Cortana and Murgleis are both derived from legendary swords in the medieval literary cycle of the Matter of France. Cortana is a sword owned by Ogier the Dane, a legendary paladin of Charlemagne. Meanwhile, Murgleis is a sword owned by Ganelon, a knight who betrays Charlemagne's army.
