Liyue's Wangsheng Funeral Parlor is a very old name in the funerary business, and its directorship is now up to its 77th generation, with the current Director being a young lady named Hu Tao.
This young director is known for her sharp intellect, but in some peoples' eyes, Hu Tao might be a little too smart for her own good.
Indeed, the quirky and eccentric Hu Tao is not what people expect from a solemn title like that of Wangsheng Funeral Parlor's director.
However, Hu Tao has a unique outlook on life and death, and though she is surrounded by death every day, her optimistic outlook has never changed. Quite an odd duck, this one.

- Hu Tao: Heh, we were talking about one certain Traveler, and how two's company but three's a crowd as the inseparable duo tour around Teyvat, making four friends here and five more there, often at sixes and sevens as they brave the lakes and seas collecting pieces of eight and countless other treasures. All will be dressed to the nines for majestic food and fine wines, and after eight long drinks and seven shorts, they'll each write six lines five times. Born to the nobility, Xingqiu is the young master of Liyue Harbor's Feiyun Commerce Guild. He loves books and chivalrous deeds.
These "books" refer to the thrilling heroic tales of heroes and heroines out in the wilds — tales of mercy, romance, and vengeance. "Chivalry," on the other hand, refers to aiding the weak and going wherever one pleases.
However, Xingqiu is a genial soul despite having such passions, and treats everyone with civility.
When speaking to him, if one hears some odd and obscure line like "through war, harmony," it is quite likely to just be a quote from the latest martial arts novel he has been reading.

- Chongyun: I was actually heading into the mountains to train, but he accosted me on the way and dragged me here.

The young thaumaturge Chongyun was born to a clan of exorcists. He travels the land, working to exorcise demons.
He is an honest and serious lad by nature, and is both hardworking and persevering, never shrinking from any sort of hardship.
However, he has one problem that no amount of work can solve, and that is the pure-yang spirit he was born with.
This pure-yang spirit is capable of repelling demons to point where Chongyun has never had to lift a finger to stop them. As a result, he has almost never seen a demon in his life.
This troubles Chongyun greatly, of course — because seriously, what exorcist has never encountered a demon to exorcise before?

- Xingqiu: Oh, how your words wound me! Is it not the responsibility of an exorcist of Liyue to ensure that this celebration of friendship between our two nations stays free of evil spirits?

Mika, Front-Line Land Surveyor of the Knights of Favonius, is a cautious and somewhat-shy teenager.
Mika is a member of the Reconnaissance Company. A dab hand at handling various problems during operations, Mika takes on responsibilities including mapping the terrain, setting up tents, starting fires for cooking, etc.
That's what Mika does — in addition to his surveyor duties, he also helps out with logistics.
Do not underestimate these tasks — without sufficient logistic support, the entire company would not be able to function properly.
As the helper behind the scenes who constantly watches everyone's back, Mika is undoubtedly a pillar of the team.

To be able to help people in trouble, to lend others her strength, this in her mind is in line with the principles of chivalry.
Indeed, Noelle dreamed of becoming a full Knight. In order to realize this dream, she has been working hard.

- Mika: (Whew... I'm glad they're not making us write sonnets or something right at the start.)
- Hu Tao: Does everyone see the lanterns hanging around the venue? These have been specially prepared for the riddle game.
- Hu Tao: Simply write down your riddle and hang it on a lantern. Then, Venti and I will select a few to pose to the crowd, and you will try to solve them!
- Hu Tao: We'll now give you some time to write down and hang up your riddles. Feel free to walk around and talk with the other contestants to get the creative juices flowing. And remember, whoever guesses the most riddles correctly will get a prize!

- Hu Tao: Heyo, looks like everyone's about done mingling and riddling! Gather round, and look this way!
- Hu Tao: Venti and I have selected several riddles from everyone's contributions, and we added a few of our own to the mix for good measure. Shortly, we'll randomly select a few to read aloud.
- Hu Tao: If your riddle gets selected, remember that you have to announce the correct answer at the end. Anyone who guesses correctly gets one point, and if nobody guesses correctly, the writer of the riddle gets a point. Sounds fair to me!
- Venti: Of course, when the riddler reveals the right response, it only counts if everyone agrees that it's not too far-fetched!
- Hu Tao: That's right! Now, if there are no more questions, it's time to reveal the first riddle!
