Tips for Beating Carmine (Central Plaza): Faint Toucannon First

Focus on defeating Toucannon first due to its signature move, Beak Blast. Toucannon will charge up during the 1st turn, which then applies a Burn to anyone who makes contact with Toucannon, then releases the charged up attack on the 2nd turn.

Carmine's Story Role

The Teal Mask Storyline

Pokemon SV - Carmine Festival Jinbei
Carmine is one of your your main companions and recurring Rival during the Teal Mask Storyline. While she initially comes off as standoffish and selfish, she warms up and guides the player around Kitakami and the Festival of Masks along with her brother, Kieran.

While she initially serves as a guide through your journey in Kitakami, she also regularly tests you with Pokemon Battles as you explore the new area!

The Teal Mask Story Guide

Carmine Name Meaning

The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Rivals

The name Carmine relates to the colors red and crimson, which can be seen depicted on the character, as her hair sports red highlights.

The two new DLC characters' red and purple hair styles could be a reference to the titles Scarlet and Violet.

Carmine Background

Blueberry Academy Student

Pokemon SV - Carmine Blueberry Room
Carmine is an experienced trainer considering she is enrolled at Blueberry Academy, a premier school that focuses on Pokemon battling as its curriculum.

She seems to be wearing the default Blueberry Academy jumpsuit, similar to the one Amarys and the other NPCs are wearing.
