How to Get Roaming Form Gimmighoul in Pokemon GO

Use Coin Bag

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet SV - Coin Bag

Roaming Form Gimmighoul will only start appearing on your map once you use the Coin Bag item in Pokemon GO. This item acts like a Lure in the game which will spawn Roaming Form Gimmighoul from time to time!

This mechanic is similar to how you can spawn Meltan in Pokemon GO with the use of the Mystery Box item, with a key difference in that you can use the Coin Bag once a day instead of once every few days.

Send Postcards to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to Get and Activate Coin Bag

If you send Postcards from Pokemon GO to Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet, you can get the Coin Bag which you can use in GO.

You also need to send more Postcards to activate the Coin Bag if you want to use it again on a different day.

To get Postcards in Pokemon GO, you can visit PokeStops or open Gifts which you can receive from your in-game friends.

How to Send Postcards
1
Connect Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet to Pokemon GO.
You can start by accessing the Mystery Gift menu in the Nintendo Switch game and selecting Connect to Pokemon GO.
2
Select Pair with a Pokemon GO account.
This will make the game look for a Pokemon GO account, which you will set up next.
3
Open Pokemon GO and connect it to Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet.
Open the app, then go to Settings > Connected Devices and Services > Nintendo Switch.

Make sure you have Bluetooth enabled on your phone!
4
Select Connect to Nintendo Switch.
If done successfully, you wil get a prompt in Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet that you have paired a Pokemon GO acccount with the game. Select Yes to connect both games.
5
Back in Pokemon GO, select a Postcard to send to Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet.
You first need to save a Postcard, which you can do by pinning it in your Postcard Book in Pokemon GO. After saving it, select a Postcard in the book, choose Send to Nintendo Switch, then confirm.
6
Back in Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet, select Connect to Pokemon GO.
This will connect both games and send the Postcard from GO to Pokemon Scarlet or Violet. A short cutscene will then play both in your phone and Nintendo Switch as the Postcard is being sent.
7
Receive Coin Bag in Pokemon GO.
After sending the Postcard, you will be notified that the Coin Bag is now available to use in Pokemon GO.

Receive Postcards and Get Rewards in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

You will be able to encounter Vivillon with different wing patterns in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet after getting a Postcard from Pokemon GO. Vivillon's pattern will depend on the origin of the Postcard, so try to get them from players around the world!

On top of that, you can also get 50 Gimmighoul Coins and other items after receiving a Postcard. If you want a steady supply of Gimmighoul Coins in the game, you can send Postcards every day!

How to Get Gimmighoul Coins in Pokemon GO

Obtain Coins from Golden PokeStops

To get Gimmighoul Coins, spin the Photo Disks of golden PokeStops. These stops are different from regular PokeStops as they are activated to give coins when the disks are spun.

Use Golden Lure Module

To change a regular PokeStop into a golden PokeStop, you need to use a Golden Lure Module on it, which you can randomly get from sending Postcards to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

This will transform the PokeStop into a golden one. You can then spin the Photo Disk to get coins!

Open Gimmighoul Goody Box

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet SV - Gimmighoul Goody Box

You can get a headstart and obtain 9 Gimmighoul Coins if you open the Gimmighoul Goody Box in Pokemon GO, which is located in the Shop menu.

How to Evolve Roaming Form Gimmighoul in Pokemon GO

Obtain 999 Gimmighoul Coins

Much like in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you need to obtain 999 Gimmighoul Coins in Pokemon GO to evolve Gimmighoul into Gholdengo.

This is not an easy task to do in the game as you can only earn a limited amount of coins per day if you are playing Pokemon GO alone, but you can speed this up if you have a friend who can use their own Golden Lure Module.

How to Evolve Every Pokemon

Move Gholdengo from Pokemon GO to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

If you want to use the Gholdengo you obtained in Pokemon GO in Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet, you will be able to transfer it from the mobile game, into Pokemon HOME, then into Pokemon Scarlet and Violet upon its integration with Pokemon HOME.

Do note that this is irreversible as you cannot move a Pokemon you sent to Pokemon HOME back to Pokemon GO.

Roaming Form Gimmighoul Stats, Moves, Ability and Info

Stats

Has Lower Bulk, but Higher Speed and Offense

Since Roaming Form Gimmighoul will be outside its chest, its stats are different from its Chest Form.

Chest Form Gimmighoul has a low Speed stat which may be explained by its tendency to house itself inside a heavy treasure chest. Roaming Form Gimmighoul has a higher Speed stat, as it can now freely move around without having to drag a chest around.

As a drawback, Roaming Form Gimmighoul has lower defensive stats as it has lost its protective cover.

Roaming Form Gimmighoul Differences

Chest Form Roaming Form

Roaming Form Gimmighoul is an alternate form for Gimmighoul, wherein it is outside of its chest where it usually hides.

Stat-wise, Roaming Form Gimmighoul has lower Defense and Special Defense stats than its Chest counterpart, but is faster thanks to its higher Speed stat.

Both forms will still evolve into the same Gholdengo once you get 999 Gimmighoul Coins in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
