#2023Book55
I love books that cover multiple decades, frequently switch between characters, and involve dysfunctional families. So this book was right up my alley and I loved getting to know the women in the Sunshine family.

Through a series of ridiculous occurrences, Claire, or Cece as she becomes known, winds up in Marrakech at the palace home of Paul and Talitha Getty. She crosses paths with some of the biggest icons of the day. Cece is like the Zelig of the hippie era. She seemed awfully unaware of the times even for someone from a small English town and it seemed like the author put her in contrived situations just to name drop. Almost a pan
Another easy read. I'm not aiming to increase my IQ here, I'm trying to send myself off to sleep!
Forgot to take a photo.
Having to belt through these books at a rate of knots, because my 8 year old want to do a drive sale for charity!!! 😂

Love this author and this was my favourite one by her. Such a good storyline with a perfect mixture of romance, comedy and a gripping read. Perfect summer book 🏝
Holiday books 🏝 just over half way through the sunshine sisters and it's a perfect holiday or summer read 📚
Meh. The pacing of this book was strange as hell. It was back - loaded. It just wasn‘t my favorite of hers 🤷🏽♀️

On this frigid #SuperBowl weekend #EvilKitten aka #Finnigan has some reading goals - #TheSunshineSisters #JaneGreen
This was good. I always find this author's books entertaining. Sorry this screenshot isn't the best. I had an ARC that didn't have a cover. 💖📚

Slowly working my way through this one. Busy time of the semester, with finals starting tomorrow. To top that off, the Library is getting a new roof...the roof we were to get in July...so it happens during finals...with a porta potty for the workers...right outside the break room window. Ah, livin the dream.
I actually wound up liking this more than I thought I would. Three sisters cope separately with their self-absorbed, narcissistic movie star mother. At the end of her life, the mother attempts to reunite and make amends with her daughters. I enjoyed the individual stories of the daughters, but I felt the end was a bit rushed - they all seemed to make up and live happily ever after too quickly considering their pasts.
Starting a new audiobook. Not sure this is my thing, but got it on Overdrive so no harm to try.
Im reading this poolside after work (bc work was a shitshow). I'm just reading it until I find something I love. Its enjoyable just not one I find myself dying to get back to.
Sunday morning at the beach house with my favorite tea and author. Perfect start to the day! #janegreen #sunshine # tea #localbookstore #shopindependentbookstores
I'm trying to write my blog review and the neighbors are shooting off fireworks. Tonight the Thunder Shirt isn't quite doing it.
I can't believe I am doing this. I have loved every Jane Green book i have EVER read. But i hate Ronni Sunshine so much, that I'm just willing to give it up. Maybe I can try again another day.
I'll just say this. A book that should have taken me 2-3 days max took me ....ELEVEN!! Ugh. Thank God for free library books.
Allowing ourselves to show our vulnerability is how we make human connections. If we're not showing other people our true selves, our weaknesses and flaws, how can we ever allow ourselves to be known?
What an interesting book this was. While some of the things ended the way I thought, the journey was raw yet delightful.
One of these days I might even finish this not very good novel 😕

@maich
This is (still) my #currentread it's.....not great. I actually stopped and read an entire book in between because it's just not speaking to me. I'll keep going tho....just in case.
#TBRtemptation post 4! #BEA17 edition! Just released. Ronni was a beautiful Hollywood star & a disinterested mother to 3 daughters. They left when they could: Nell landed on a farm as a single mom; Meredith went to London with a man she may not love; Lizzy became a star chef with a ruined marriage. Ronni calls them together to fulfill her last wishes, even as they suffer crises. Is blood thicker the water? #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
⭐️⭐️⭐️ For Jane Green's latest novel about three sisters and their relationship with their mother. Full review at http://whatchatreadin.blogspot.com
It's going to be nearly 100 today which means after I make my husband take me to breakfast, I'll be indoors all day reading. I seriously hate the heat.
I think of Jane Green's books as great beach reads. But I am here to tell you that The Sunshine Sisters is working out just fine for me while I'm getting my hair done today.
I would have preferred a bit more substance to the plot and character development and found the romantic relationships a little too contrived and convenient. That being said, if you're looking for a change of pace for your brain, this is the perfect light summer read! Best photo ever. Me (left), my roomie and Jane Green. Lunch at #bookexpo
Current situation: deck reading with @kitty_reads

Exciting #bookmail! A new Goodreads win (my first ever), a #blameitonlitsy purchase, and a great card from @LazyOwl , colored by her daughter.
