While Bailey is sleeping I didn‘t snooze with this one. I love a well written and everyone‘s points of view. I did think half way through that the end was certainly going to be very important to me with all these chart. Ms. Reid did not disappoint.

This the first Georgette Heyer I‘ve read. It was a fun and entertaining mystery even though it was easy enough to guess the villains.

Thanks to my darling daughter for the Jolabokaflod books! We‘ve had a lovely day doing some reading in between running to McD for the hopeful cure all (the cheeseburgers always cured Samia‘s) stomach issues and walking the pacing Bailey. Loving these James‘ shorts. She has been a favorite author of mine. And the ears belong to Scooter who I inherited from my Mom.

Been in a reading slump so I was happy to get a new Russell and Holmes as I have enjoyed Laurie King‘s stories. This one did not disappoint as Mary agrees to help her friend find her aunt who did not return to Bedlam with her nurse after a party.

minkyb My daughter loves this series and keeps urging me to start. I am afraid that if I pick up the first one I will get hooked and want to read them all! Laurie King is a wonderful author. 6y

4. Clean. It is kind of sad that one of the things I really detest is the thing I have to do every where. Found wild caught catfish so cooking was good.
5. Re-reading a favorite or if I am lucky one of my favorite authors has a book come out that sucks me in. And I think I am coming out of a major slump caused by that lack of focus brought on by stress.

dsfisher @Godmotherx5 I am taking care of my elderly Mother and anything I fix sounds great to her until we sit down to eat. Meals are becoming stressful as she is not eating much. But I‘m blessed to be able to come out to Arizona to help her. 6y

2. About 4,000 miles. A little move from Maryland to Germany
3. Not as many as I used to have before these last moves.
4. Wouldn‘t be surprised but I hope not for at least a couple of years
5. Some movers have been good but others were not so great. Prefer to do the packing.

Sandford doesn‘t disappoint. I was a little worried as I didn‘t think it would be as good as the last one in the Lucas Davenport series but it was another page turner. Assignation, murder, corruption, just another day for the Senate in Washington.

DGRachel So... I freaked when Weather got smashed and sent to the hospital. I hope my overall positive tone on the book didn‘t spoil the suspense for you there. What did you think about how Lucas managed to manipulate the senator‘s demise? 7y
dsfisher I feared she would go after his family but such violence and I do love how they were caught out. And I figured that he was telling the girlfriend everything for a sneaky reason, loved that phone call at the end. 7y

I found these women‘s stories fascinating (and these were women, not girls). I was not surprised at some of the treatment they received especially after WWll was over. I was surprised by the very large numbers and the jobs involved. Great read.

I got totally sucked into this one which is the 9th of the series. Most of the story centers around Max and her plans and historical activities in a couple different places & times.

tournevis The title had me cackling, but then again, I'm a tenured member of a history department in a 'prestigious' University, so I should know historians. 7y

Another entertaining story, this is the third in the series. Other than a couple of leaps that I found a little hard to understand the mystery was complex. Also interesting about how the laborers lived while building the railroad.

I love this series with Scotland Yard detective Richard Jury and the his eccentric cohorts. Great dialogue and a crazy murder mystery combine to make a satisfying story.
