2 weeks to release! A snippet:
Nothing like being put on display, especially in front of people who didn’t appear fond of her jumping the line. It hadn’t been her idea, she wanted to say. It belonged to the jocular celebrity among them.
Meanwhile, Charlie almost looked … hurt. Like a puppy with sad eyes. “No, really. Let me get this.”
The customers’ impatience was almost palpable, so she caved to speed things along.

Almost through the edits! Here's a snippet:

Charlie tipped his head toward Joy, whose nose was glued to her notebook. “Look at her! She’s all snooty high-rise Chicago big-city girl. She struts around town in her expensive clothes, blows past the speed limits like they don’t apply to her, and generally throws her weight around … as if she has any to throw.”

Noah mock-whistled. “Wow! She really pissed you off."

Manuscript is with the editor! Here's a taste from Chap 1:

Eyes the color of Jameson 18-year were perfectly balanced atop sharp cheekbones. With smooth olive feature, she was stunning, despite the hard set of her mouth. With those looks and her high-risk, high-reward vibe, she no doubt got what she wanted ninety-nine percent of the time.

Charlie would soon be part of the one percent that landed in her loss column.

1 more day to get the book to the editor! Sleep? It's overrated. Here's a little teaser:

She’d been so ready to throttle him when she’d walked in on him the day before, casually parked on the floor reading her private notes. Funny thing was, though, his brows had been furrowed, his expression one of concentration rather than mocking. No, the mocking had come right after she busted his squeezable ass.

How had they gone from combatants to partners to lovers who couldn’t keep their hands off each other? And so quickly? It seemed as if the universe had thrown a switch.

Story's coming along. Here's a Sunday snippet:

He kept running up against the same damn rule. He didn't get naked with clients, and she was a client. Totally off-limits.

Or was she?

Then it hit him like a sledgehammer on a nailhead. She wasn’t a client anymore. She was his partner. Didn’t that mean a different set of rules applied?

Except banging your partner had to be an even worse idea.

A snippet:
“I get it. You’re a good-looking guy who’s in high demand in these small towns.”

“No, it’s not like that! Wait. You think I’m good looking?” One side of his mouth quirked. He couldn’t help it.

She shook her head, but mischief capered in her eyes. In fact, her eyes were positively lit, all gold and fire. “Lucky me. I’m with San Juan County’s most famous bachelor.”

“We’re actually in Dolores County now.”

A new snippet:
One corner of his mouth twitched, and she expected that lopsided grin to sprout. Instead, he crooked his finger. “Come here. I want to test a theory.”
She straightened and scooted over an inch.
“Closer.”
Another inch.
“Closer.”
She was practically nose to nose with him. Then the grin did sprout. “That’s better.” He traced the line of her jaw with his finger, making her skin sizzle. She closed her eyes.

It's been a bit of a challenge carving out time to write lately, but there is progress. Here's a snippet from Chap 10:

Joy's preconceived image of Charlie Hunnicutt was taking a sharp detour, and it occurred to her she might have unfairly pigeonholed him into a pretty-boy lunkhead contractor category where he didn’t belong.
