Seemed like they were rehashing the same things over and over and being emotionally immature. When they finally had their HEA happy resolution it seemed abrupt. Just my opinion. I enjoyed the book but it wasn’t as satisfying as I hoped it would be based on the premise. I keep wanting to like secret baby romances but it’s so hard to forgive the FMC for the deception....more

It was fast-paced, entertaining, hot, and it even had angst! The characters were emotionally mature too, which was a nice change from some of the NA books I’ve read recently. Loved the angsty setup of the H torturing the h and then the forced proximity. I’m also one of those odd readers out who LOVES the dead wife trope. I want to binge the whole series now.

The Mage’s Match is one of my favorite fantasy reads of all time.
The orcs’ single-mindedness and overt manipulations, their buckets of cum, their stilted language, their degradation of women, almost universal disdain for humans, their emotional immaturity and impulsiveness just don’t do it for me. This storyline seemed promising, but it dragged for me. I just get so dang frustrated for the women in these stories. These orcs are so exasperating. There’s a huge disconnect for me and a lot of implied sentiment that isn’t proven. I definitely couldn’t live on Orc Mountain. To each their own!...more

I am relatively the same age as the MC’s. I was in and around NYC a lot trying and failing to make it as a model during the time in the book when the characters attended LaGuardia and during the terrorist attack.
