Loved the angsty setup of the H torturing the h and then the forced proximity. I’m also one of those odd readers out who LOVES the dead wife trope. I want to binge the whole series now.

The Mage’s Match is one of my favorite fantasy reads of all time.
The orcs’ single-mindedness and overt manipulations, their buckets of cum, their stilted language, their degradation of women, almost universal disdain for humans, their emotional immaturity and impulsiveness just don’t do it for me. This storyline seemed promising, but it dragged for me. I just get so dang frustrated for the women in these stories. These orcs are so exasperating. There’s a huge disconnect for me and a lot of implied sentiment that isn’t proven. I definitely couldn’t live on Orc Mountain. To each their own!...more

The trip with every possible obstacle thrown in its way up to the very end along with the MC’s waffling was a laborious read. The dialogue was OTT at times. I liked Colin and his self-deprecation. Minerva’s willful naivete was a bit flummoxing. I was rooting for Minerva to make it in some way, but… it seemed the whole adventure was mostly in vain except for their relationship blossoming....more
