The “safest” ship in the universe has crashed on an unnamed planet in a freak lobster incident, and young Zaphod Beeblebrox is a salvage operator on a secret mission to rescue parts of the wreckage. Things don’t go smoothly as originally planned, as among the “totally inoffensive” contents of the ship are revealed to be unspeakable “custom made Personalities.”
A totally unnecessary prequel story about the origins of Zaphod Beeblebrox, president of the Galaxy, and how he came to be. This was not bad per se but it was hardly worth it, since it adds little to nothing to the series, and should NOT be read before starting the series, as it would probably turn away possible new readers. If anything this should be read at last, with null expectations, and only advisable for Zaphod enthusiasts or die hard Hitchhikers fans.

This was quite cute and humorous overall. Nothing horror like in the movie, just simple sci-fi fun. Any fan of the movie Aliens would probably love this, and more so a lover of cats. I think this is pretty safe for children too. Can’t see anyone else liking it though.
My personal favorite is Aliens 2 btw.

Tiffy More desperately needs an apartment after her recent breakup with Justin. Leon Twomey works the night shift and needs rent money to help his brother Richie. Tiffy and Leon will be sharing the same apartment for months, they will never meet.
I LOVED IT WITH ALL MY HEART. Loved Tiffy right from the start, so sweet, and funny! Took me a little longer to open up to Leon, but maybe because I’m just as reserved as he is. I also can’t explain how much I loved Rachel, she’s like THE perfect bff. Always made me smile or laugh whenever she was around. Mo and Gerty were great. So was Richie. And Holly. On the other hand, totally HATED Justin with every fiber of my being, and my only complaint about this book is that I feel he wasn’t punished enough. I think all the hype and fame as one of the best romcoms is very well deserved. Endless supply of quotes and moments to remember by. Lost track of how many times this book made me smile, laugh and swoon, wholesome like a healing balm to the soul. Painful moments also included along the ride. The post-it thing was simply adorable. The banter was addictive. The slow burn was beyond amazing.

Alex Blackwood and Molly Parker are both starting Pitt University. Alex is easy going and kind of a player; trying to rebuild her relationship after a recent break-up with Natalie. Molly is super shy and socially anxious; an introvert in desperate quest for new friends, and hopelessly in love with unattainable Cora. Alex is going to try to help her win her heart, and craziness is going to unfold for everyone involved.
I’m going to start by saying that my experience with rom-com and lgbt novels is near non-existent. That said, THIS WAS AWESOME. The kind of book I would love to reread like the first time. Molly has my winning socially inept personality, and Alex my occasional boldness and snarky humor, so it was no problem relating with them both. This novel shoved my butterflies all over the place and is as sweet as it can possibly get, without ever becoming too much. I lost count of how many times it made me laugh and smile. Swooning is also guaranteed. Perfect chemistry. Endless supply of quotes and moments to remember by.
I think this novel has a pretty easy lovable theme, so if you don't feel the magic by the first third of the book I would suggest to drop it, it won’t happen. The plot offers nothing new, I know I’ve seen something similar before, just can’t exactly pinpoint where. The ending is utterly predictable, I went in with nothing but the title and the skates of the cover, and still already guessed the ending by chapter 5. So this is not a novel about the ending, it’s a novel about the ride. And what a ride it was. Truly unforgettable. A spot in “Perfection” shelf, solid favorite and possible Top 10. Extremely recommendable, for the right audience. And I wouldn’t be surprised if it becomes a movie someday.
----------------------------------------------- PERSONAL NOTE: I had this friend, BFF for so long, so many years. Time and distance eventually drew us apart; but I still remember her from time to time. She loved roller figure skating. Won competitions even, the works.
I don’t think you necessarily must have read every single classic beforehand to understand these jokes but I do think you can appreciate them a lot better if you have; or watched an adaptation, or have at least a general idea of what the book is all about.
I only went as far as 28/110 because I still have a long way to complete the book list. Most times I just read blindly, picking a book only by its title. And I fiercely avoid spoilers or hints about a books content, even as mild as this one. Whenever possible.

A little bit of everything, childhood, parents, improv beginnings, pregnancy, m A non chronological Audiobook memoir by famous comedian Amy Poehler.
A little bit of everything, childhood, parents, improv beginnings, pregnancy, motherhood, divorce, sex, drugs, pudding, career, Tina, womanhood, time travel, the Biz, Parks and Recreation, SNL, more SNL, and, lastly, little bits of SNL sprinkled into every other topic that you may think is not related to SNL, but somehow is.
I start to think memoirs are not my thing, didn't care much for Poehler's, Fey's or Barrymore's. I've found them all somewhat interesting, yet not really enjoyable. I've never watched SNL. I know it's there, I know it's cool, I know I should watch it, but it doesn't really air over here so. Anyway, I'm positive this would totally hit it with any SNL fan. Amy Poehler is one badass dudess, you can tell even if it is your first time hearing her, and she's probably gonna make you smile or laugh in many chapters, specially if you are fond of her.

This is sort of an anti-hero self-help book, something you should read (or hear) if you feel the world weighing up a little bit too much. It just unburdens you of some stuff. No real groundbreaking philosophy, just a couple of useful hints and insights on how to take things more lightly, when taking them seriously is hurting you.
Chapters 1 and 2 were pure magic. The kind of magic that wouldn't be too bad to hear once or twice a year. If not for the hints, for the laughs. There are also some interesting comments on chapter 8, and some anecdotes here and there. The rest of the book was kind of meh. Funny meh, sure, but typical self-help textbook lines that tires a bit, if not a lot.
Couldn't be happier to have chosen audio rather than ebook. Cursing can seem very aggressive when reading it on text, but hearing it through the voice of the narrator it became so much easier, and funnier.
Tips: Don't take it too seriously, develop a tolerance to hear the word f*ck once too many often, and just enjoy the ride.

Absurdity at its finest. A few years after Charlie's noble sacrifice, and the death of many other death merchants, uncollected souls keep pilling up, unable to re-enter the cycle of life. The Morrigan threatening to strike again, and an almighty Lemon leading the way.
A worthy sequel. Some very good moments and a few laughs here and there. Humorous, yet not so much as to be hilarious. Although Charlie Asher still holds the spotlight, for me the Lily and Wiggly Charlie bits were the best of the book. And Sophie's fierce directness was something beyond adorable.
An entertaining funny read, and a nice ending to this weird duology. At least for now~!

"Bossypants" is a little memoir about the joys and setbacks through Tina Fey’s life. From childhood to adulthood; and her crazy family life. From her first jobs to SNL and 30 Rock; and her beginnings in comedy. Tina goes through a variety of serious and not so serious subjects, sometimes even random; but almost always through humor. It was a very nice touch to have this on Audiobook and hear it from Tina herself.
Certainly entertaining and funny, to an extent. I knew Fey to be a comedian, writer in SNL, and creator of Mean Girls. This memoir would have probably been a lot nicer if I had ever watched at least an episode of SNL or 30 Rock, something still not happening to this day. I’m also not a fan of political humor, which is abundant in many occasions. I think this would totally hit it with any SNL fan, so if that’s your case, you may want to check this one out, or Amy Pohler’s “Yes Please”.
Overall I liked it, but it is not one of my most memorable reads. I cherish some very funny bits, some tips about professional and family life, and some very interesting knowledge about the hardships of the comedian’s life. And maybe a thing or two more.

Dent, Trillian, Ford, Zaphod and Random, are miraculously saved from the destruction of the planet and they travel to Nano, a little refuge with the last survivors of Earth. But this idyllic oasis in the middle of the universe has some problems; mainly, the humans living in it.
Some good moments and funny scenes. In all honesty an entertaining reading, but far from being anything memorable. Does helps a lot to remove some of the awful aftertaste of the dismal ending in book #5.
It’s a rare thing when an author tries to continue the legacy of a previous one. Many find just the idea of it preposterous, so there’s a lot of unjustified hate for this book, and the author. Personally I reserve my contempt not for authors that merely try, but for those who try and fail miserably at it. And I truly think Eoin Colfer is not one of those cases. Sure there are noticeable differences in style and whatnot, and no one will ever replace the beloved one and only Douglas Adams. But in the vast land of imitations, I dare to admit Colfer is at the very least a decent try.
Would the late Douglas Adams approve this? We’ll never know. But his surviving widow did, and one would think she’s the one that knew him best in life. So maybe that means something.
Some people consider this book part of the series, others do not. I find the discussion moot. Like I’ve said before, for me it all ended hea in #4.

Algunos Buenos momentos y escenas graciosas.

To anyone reading this, I'm going to tell you something I wish someone had told me before going forward. STOP HERE, don't read #5, you PLEASE DON’T!
To anyone reading this, I'm going to tell you something I wish someone had told me before going forward. STOP HERE, don't read #5, you'll regret it for the rest of your life. #4 is a nice HEA ending for the series. This one isn't. Please! Don’t do this to yourself!
But if you must... then here it goes.
Arthur Dent crashes on remote planet Lamuella. Fenchurch lost to some weird space time inconsistency. Stranded, alone, he decides to rebuild his life becoming the local Sandwich Maker. Life seems quiet again for a time, until Trillian arrives with a mysterious teenage child. Random, Arthur’s secret daughter. Things are about to get complicated again.
I HATED THIS WITH ALL MY HEART. I’ll never forgive what Adams did to Fenchurch. (view spoiler)[I was hoping through all the book she would return, but she never did. Damn you Adams! (hide spoiler)] But that’s not enough is it? Let’s not forget what he already did to Marvin. I read this so long ago I don’t remember how I felt about Random. And Trillian, well… who? Ford was there for a time, so that’s good, I guess. Zaphod was not, thank god. And a special mention for Agrajag, my heart goes for that unlucky villain.
And regarding the ending. Gosh! THAT ENDING! Who does that? Seriously Adams. WTF!
----------------------------------------------- PERSONAL NOTE: It should be noted that apparently Douglas Adams was suffering from severe depression at the time of writing this. But still... dude! [1992] [288p] [Humor] [EXTREMELY Not Recommendable] -----------------------------------------------
Zaphod no, gracias a Dios.
¡hombre! After so many crazy adventures through the galaxy, Arthur Dent is back on a reconstructed Earth. Life, for once, seems happily unevent Yo Fenchurch!
After so many crazy adventures through the galaxy, Arthur Dent is back on a reconstructed Earth. Life, for once, seems happily uneventful, until the arrival of a mysterious character, and the appearance of a fishbowl with a cryptic message; not to mention, the disappearance of every single dolphin in the world.
This was the second best installment in the series. I absolutely LOVED the introduction of Fenchurch. Learned to understand and care about her so much more in just one book, than with Trillian in three. Just loved her character development (view spoiler)[and her unfolding relationship with Dent (hide spoiler)]. The biscuits story is one of the most hilarious things I’ve ever read in my entire life, and my most precious memory of all the books in the series. Cracks me up to tears every time I read it. This was mostly a solid 3 star read, but Fenchurch and the biscuits scene deserving an extra star.
For me this is the end of the series. #5 is something I like to pretend never happened. To anyone reading this, I'm going to tell you something I wish someone had told me before going forward. STOP HERE, don't read #5, you'll regret it for the rest of your life. #4 is a nice HEA ending for the series, #5 REALLY is not. Trust me, don't do that to yourself.

An ancient danger threatens to resurface and destroy the universe. The townsfolk of Krikkit doesn’t like to see so many bright dots on Yo Wowbagger!
An ancient danger threatens to resurface and destroy the universe. The townsfolk of Krikkit doesn’t like to see so many bright dots on their night sky, so they plan to correct it, by wiping out every planet in the galaxy. Dent, Ford, Trillian and Zhapod, the crazy quartet of misfortune, will simply try not to make things worse.
An interesting new installment. Arthur and Ford back on the spot light, Trillian with a brief protagonism nearing the end, and, thank God, a whole lot less Zhapod. Adams writing ever so magnificently satirical, far from that perfect #1, but much better than #2. A certainly entertaining sequel, hilarious from time to time, and with some memorable moments. Just loved the introduction of Wowbagger. Marvin was my favorite character, but the throne now belongs to Wowbagger, a highly controversial character, but with an admirable purpose.
----------------------------------------------- PERSONAL NOTE: [1982] [224p] [Humor] [Not Recommendable] [“Krikkit believe in peace, justice, morality, culture, sport, family life, and the obliteration of all other life forms”] [“His name was Wowbagger. He was a man with a purpose. Not a very good purpose, as he would have been the first to admit, but it was at least a purpose that keep him on the move. (view spoiler)[ He would insult the Universe. That is, he would insult everybody in it. Individually, personally, one by one, and in alphabetical order.” (hide spoiler)] ] -----------------------------------------------

Zaphod, Marvin, Trillian, Arthur and Ford resume their improbable adventures through the infinity of time and the immensity of a boundles Yo Marvin!
Zaphod, Marvin, Trillian, Arthur and Ford resume their improbable adventures through the infinity of time and the immensity of a boundlessly crazy galaxy. Trying to understand the significance of the Ultimate Question, and finding the Ruler of the Galaxy.
An interesting sequel, with many elements and the style that characterize Hitchikers #1, possibly the funniest book I’ve ever read. Many funny moments and absurd genialities of a tragically comic universe like only Douglas can deliver. Unfortunately, for various reasons, this sequel didn’t really cut it. Maybe the surprise was lost, maybe the humor didn’t nail it like the first time. Maybe the first book set a too high standard, impossible to reach.
Zaphod, a character that I found hilariously unpredictable in the first installment, in this one I found extremely grumpy and frankly highly unpleasant to bear. Trillian scarcely appears to make any comment at all, and Arthur and Ford barely have an exiguous protagonism, nearing the very end. But above everything, way too much Zaphod.
Thank god Marvin was there to "brighten up" the day though!
----------------------------------------------- PERSONAL NOTE: [1980] [250p] [Humor] [2.5] [Not Recommendable] -----------------------------------------------

No me arrepiento.
Gracioso, perturbador, perfecto.
