I’ve given 2 stars instead of 1 star even though I didn’t finish the book, because it’s obviously well written and has survived to be enjoyed and to given 5stars by many. But I didn’t enjoying it in the least.
Written in 1952, it is supposed to be a comedy of manners, but I couldn’t see any comedy or humour in it at all. Nothing happened, there were just groups of women talking about going to church, or whether the minister is good looking, and having cups of tea.
