I’m amazed at how much I’ve enjoyed this YA series. This story is very engaging, I felt really invested in the characters, the writing is excellent. There is a scene that depicts animal violence, which may be upsetting for younger readers, but generally, I think the series is suitable for kids from age 10. But don’t let that put off adult readers. If you have a child or grandchild who’s reading these books, this series is a great buddy read for you to have with them. ...more

I listened to this so I could discuss the series with my 12year old granddaughter, who is completely taken with the stories. I was surprised at how well written and engaging it is. The story takes place in a forest where wild cats are the characters. They have formed 4 clans and they fight to protect their members, territory and hunting rights. Imagine they are not cats, but people, primitive tribes living in a wild environment seperated from and avoiding modern civilisation. Suitable for anyone from late primary school to oldies like me. There is some fantasy violence that just adds to the drama. ...more
