White Wafers - Stage 5 (simply called Stage 5 or 4-5 in-game) is the fifth stage of White Wafers in Kirby's Return to Dream Land and its remake—Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe. There are four Energy Spheres in this stage.
Overview[edit]
The stage begins on the outskirts of an icy ruin. Kirby will need to bypass a local guard to gain entry.
Once inside, the path splits in two, though the right path is blocked by a gate. Kirby will need to head left past the Wapod into a round-trip door and obtain the key from a Knuckle Joe standing guard, then return to the gate to press forward.
The door leads to a long hallway lined with giant ice platforms that slide back and forth. Kirby will need to traverse this hall while avoiding the hazards along the way, using a Crackler to clear them.
The next area has Kirby bypassing some Shelts then climbing a ladder to reach the next area. Some chambers can be seen on the side which will be accessed later.
The next area is set up much the same as the second, with two pathways, one blocked by a gate. Kirby will need to head to the right to collect the key in a separate chamber, though this will incur the wrath of the Hunter Scarfies. From there, he must reach the gate and press on through the next room.
Kirby finds himself in a very dark hallway, and will need to utilize the light of a Candle to traverse it safely. Along the way, he will need to make a number of tricky jumps, using Point Stars to guide him.
In the last area, Kirby will need to grab a key and carry it past a number of Hunter Scarfies to unlock the gate leading out of the ruin. The stage exit can be found just beyond. In Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, a Copy Essence for Festival can be found in this area as well.
Energy Sphere guide[edit]
- In the sliding floor hallway, a round-trip door can be found along the floor between two sliding ice blocks. Kirby will need to take this door with a Crackler in hand, then use the nozzle in the subsequent room to break away metal blocks and access the first sphere.
- At the end of the sliding floor hall, Kirby will need to swallow a Galbo to obtain the Fire ability, or keep Fighter from the Knuckle Joe. In the following room, a number of ice blocks can be broken to reveal a round-trip door leading to a Bomb Block challenge. Clearing this challenge yields the second sphere.
- In the dark hallway, Kirby will need to find the ice block barrier in the middle of the hall and break it using the Candle or a fire-based ability to reveal a round-trip door. Inside is a room where Kirby will need to make particular use of the Ice ability to obtain the third sphere.
- In the last area, Kirby will need to carry a Key past the Hunter Scarfies, then unlock the gate on the left to access the final sphere.
