Delia Wilson is a supporting antagonist in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, appearing in the episodes "Rhodium Nights", "Lost Reputation", and "Above Suspicion". She is a pimp and crime boss whose clients include powerful politicians and police officials.
She was portrayed by Brooke Smith.
Biography[]
To all appearances, Wilson is a model citizen - a wife, mother, farmer, and Sunday School teacher who claims to run a "matchmaking service" as a hobby.
Beneath that wholesome surface, however, she is a ruthless pimp and crime boss who runs the biggest sex trafficking ring in New York City, regularly prostituting underage girls to wealthy and powerful men. Her client list includes several CEOs, high-ranking government officials, police officers, and judges, which makes her virtually untouchable by the law.
"Rhodium Nights"[]
Wilson tries to take out her main competitor, Bart Ganzel, by sending one of her prostitutes to a bachelor party that he is throwing for Major League baseball player Will Brady and having her killed so Ganzel will take the blame. Detective Olivia Benson of the NYPD's Special Victims Unit learns from her former coworker, Detective Brian Cassidy, who is working undercover as Ganzel's bodyguard, that Ganzel is competing with Wilson, so she and her partner Detective Nick Amaro go to interview her. Wilson denies doing anything illegal, but begins planning to eliminate SVU as well as Ganzel.
Ganzel retaliates against Wilson by having one of his prostitutes poison former Governor of New York Harrison Fletcher and make it look like one of her girls did it. While investigating Fletcher's death, the SVU detectives find enough evidence to arrest Wilson, but thanks to Exley she is immediately set free on bail.
"Lost Reputation"[]
SVU's Captain, Don Cragen, is framed for the murder of Carissa Gibson, Ganzel's girlfriend, who was once one of Wilson's top earners. Wilson visits Amaro and warns him that Ganzel framed Cragen, and that Cragen will turn on him to save his own skin. Amaro tells her to leave, but begins to doubt the loyalty of his fellow detectives, just as Wilson intended.
Wilson then sends corrupt Assistant District Attorney Paula Foster, who has been on her payroll for years, to manipulate the investigation so that Cragen would be found guilty. Foster and Benson question Wilson's bookmaker, Iris, who soon afterward turns up dead of an apparent suicide; it is implied that Wilson killed her.
"Above Suspicion"[]
When Ganzel makes a deal with SVU to testify against Wilson in court in return for a reduced sentence, Wilson sends two of her goons to steal Ganzel's car as a pretext to start a gunfight meant to kill him. While Ganzel survives, he is arrested after confessing to his lawyer Barry Querns that he killed Carissa for cheating on him with Cassidy, unaware that Querns recorded the conversation.
Cragen is cleared of Carissa's murder, but Wilson is still intent on destroying SVU, so she has two of her prostitutes accuse him of solicitation and forced sodomy. Benson investigates and finds that Foster's office has tried and failed several times to prosecute Wilson. She presses Foster, who says that Wilson is too powerful to take down. Benson investigates further, however, eventually uncovering Foster's corruption. She arrests Foster and Wilson, with the latter likely facing life in prison; her prostitutes, meanwhile, drop the charges against Cragen, clearing his name.
