Biography[]
Background[]
He was a former Army combat veteran. Upon his discharge, he went on to marry and have a family before he went on to join the CPD and became an officer handling immigrants camped outside his precinct. During his career, Alvarado would cross paths with repeat felon Aaron Marshall, arresting him in a drug bust outside a trap house. Unknown to everyone, beneath this pleasant exterior was a dark secret; Alvarado was a serial rapist who preyed on female immigrants and would get away with this because the victims knew they risk their status in the city, had no money for lawyers, and nobody would accuse a cop like him.
At one point, there was a complaint made against him by a Venezuelan migrant named Gabriela Baez, who said that he raped her friend, Raquel Bolivar. However, she would retract her statement after being threatened. Sometime after, Gabriela found out she was pregnant with his child. Upon learning she was pregnant, Alvarado made plans to dispose of her and the child.
Safe Harbor[]
He is first seen at his precinct when he was partnered with Kim Burgess on an overnight shift patrolling a tent encampment outside the 13th Police Precinct where Venezuelan migrants were camped. He is seemingly a pleasant individual and teaches Kim the ropes to his job. However, Alvarado had previously met with Marshall at a diner, paying him to perform a hit on Raquel. That night, Marshall later an initiated drive-by shooting on Raquel and was able to mask it as a hate crime by shooting at the precinct to cover his tracks. Burgess attempted to pursue but was unable to locate the car and found a "distraught" Alvarado tending to a wounded Raquel. To make sure Raquel didn't survive, he placed the tourniquet in the wrong place of the gunshot wound. That was one loose end, the next was Marshall, whom he hired to kill Bolivar. While with the Intelligence Unit, he would put a grieving facade and get infuriated when interviewing a racist suspect only to be held back. Once Intelligence discovered Marshall's identity, they tracked him down at a junk yard, where he attempted to plea with Alvarado who silenced him by shooting him dead right in front of Burgess.
However, this act made him seem suspicious to Burgess who discovered the complaint and those involved. It didn't take long for Alvarado to learn she was onto him and continued act. He decided to take care of the last loose end was Gabriela, who went on a bus to a church where she stayed and worked. After finding her, he planted drugs on the migrants in the church, including Baez, and tipped off ICE using a burner phone from the precinct. Kim confronted Danny at his home about it, making it clear they were going to take him down for the hit. Alvarado suggested he take his own life by using his gun, yet Burgess chose to take him down alive and arrest him. While cuffing him, she voiced that she would not let him get the easy way out and will ensure his victims get justice.
He was then incarcerated for serial rape, murder facilitation, and murder.
