Colossi are statue-like beings created by the ancient tribe that resided on Waford in order to defend the Divine Breath. When a Colossus is defeated, the energy stored in its ruins is released at once, causing weather phenomena based on that element to form across the island for a short period of time.[1]

They stand in the way of the Straw Hat Pirates during their adventures on Waford in One Piece Odyssey.[2]

Appearance[]

The Colossi are statuesque beings that appear to be mainly made of stone, with mainly featureless faces that are half black and half white. Their appendages and heads glow with the color of the element they represent, and their general designs reflect their element.[2]

Old-Type Wind Colossus[]

The Old-Type Wind Colossus (旧タイプの風の巨像, Kyū Taipu no Kaze no Kyozō?) was the first-generation Wind Colossus (風の巨像の, Kaze no Kyozō?) on Waford and a tertiary antagonist in One Piece Odyssey.

When the Straw Hat Pirates recovered the medical stone for Renny, the Old-Type Wind Colossus attacked them in the Forbidden Valley, but they were able to defeat it.

It had the same abilities as the second-generation Wind Colossus.

Abilities and Powers[]

Each of the Colossi wields a single element, being fire, lightning, wind, and ice. They all possess extreme durability, being able to take powerful hits before being defeated. Notably, they all hold fractions of the Divine Breath's full power.[1]

History[]

Past[]

The Colossi were created on Waford during the Wandering Clan's study of weather control. They were initially created as weaker replacements to the Divine Breath after it's rampage, meant to be more easily controlled.[3]

Initially, there were six Colossi, but two quickly deteriorated and shut down. The remaining four had trouble controlling their output and were too likely to go on a rampage, so they were decommissioned and the second generation Colossi was created in their stead.[4]

One Piece Odyssey[]

While traveling across Waford, the Straw Hat Pirates were suddenly attacked by Yakedoro, the Fire Colossus. After a short battle, they were interrupted by Lim, who stole away their abilities, before being attacked by Yakedoro once again. Unable to fight back, they were nearly defeated by the beast, before being suddenly saved by Adio Suerte, who informed them of the Colossus' limited range and instructed them to retreat.

Some time later, the Straw Hats explored the Thunderhead Ruins and found the Thunder Colossus on the bottom floor, trapped in a shield of lightning. Wanting to fight it, they managed to disable the shield, prompting the Colossus to attack. However, it was swiftly defeated, and in its last moments attempted to shoot a beam of lightning at Usopp; however, the attack was blocked by Adio's Kote Kote no Mi abilities. When it died, a multitude of the Straw Hats' ability cubes flew out.

After returning from the Arabasta Kingdom Memoria, the Straw Hats explored the Dust Ruins and found the Wind Colossus on the bottom floor. They quickly challenged it, and with help from Adio, were able to defeat it. Like the Thunder Colossus, a multitude of the Straw Hats' ability cubes flew out.

After returning from the Water 7 Memoria, the Straw Hats explored the Ice Block Ruins and found the Water Colossus. They challenged it and defeated it, causing a multitude of the Straw Hats' ability cubes to fly out again.

After returning from the Marineford Memoria, the Straw Hats returned to the Thousand Sunny to retrieve Brook's body. There, they were attacked by the Fire Colossus once again, this time managing to defeat it completely.

Sometime later, the Straw Hats ran into the decommissioned Old-Type Wind Colossus, but managed to defeat it.

With all known Colossi deceased, and the means to create new ones seemingly lost to time, the race appears to be extinct.
