Introducing Sora: “Why go anywhere when the best of the realms are here. For example...me!”
Skilful, independent and definitely not lacking in confidence, Sora seized her chance to leave the shadowy city of Imperium when The Merge hit. Now she’s struck up a friendship with Arin that could take them both to new heights...
Meet Arin!: Just another ‘wannabe’ ninja? Or something more? Things got shaken up by The Merge, and nobody felt it more than ninja superfan Arin. One thing is for sure, epic adventures await him and his new buddy, tech genius Sora.

Ras expects answers...: The ninja have faced some tough adversaries, but not many as fearsome as tiger-humanoid Ras. He demands total focus, competence and loyalty from his minions, so it’s probably best he doesn’t find out you’ve been working on your autobiographical one-man musical instead...
Save the Dragons!: It’s a desperate time for the dragons. Since The Merge, the evil Claws of Imperium can cross freely into the united realms to hunt them down. They need an ally, but Lloyd, Arin and Sora must prove themselves trustworthy first...
Cragglings rock. Ninjas...roll!: When the Cragglings rock up, it’s time for the ninja to roll! But rushing into battle comes with its own risks... Will a familar bolt from the blue come to the rescue?
Nya & Kai Reunited!: Brother and sister. Fire and water. A bond that not even The Merge could break. But when the pair are drawn into a conflict, how wise is their battle plan?
Self-Taught Spinjitzu?: The ninja are back, and they are tackling the BIG questions. Can a normal kid really teach themselves Spinjitzu? Can a dragon give someone elemental powers? What are the mergequakes? And ...uh ...who has the best hair?
Green Ninja Origin Revealed?: Note to self: Be careful when asking the bookworms of the Cloud Kingdom library for information. You might end up forever being known as the “Master of Green Boogers”...

Trivia
- With the season having 20 episodes and each being 22 minutes long (440 minutes), this, as well as the second season of the series, are the longest seasons in the Ninjago franchise by runtime to date, surpassing Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu and Crystalized.
- This is also the first season since March of the Oni to have 22-minute episodes and the first season animated by WildBrain to have 22-minute episodes.
- On April 1, 2023, writers Chris "Doc" Wyatt and Kevin Burke each tweeted out a sneak peak at the new season in the form of two truths and a lie.
- Wyatt's three statements were:[2]
- The Cloud Kingdom will see the rise of a new Elemental Master.
- The Realm of Madness will defend itself against dangerous dragons.
- The Departed Realm will release the spirits of ancient creatures forgotten by history.
- Burke's three statements were:[3]
- A half-man, half-frog will accept an alternative form of payment.
- One ninja's golden shield will unlock an ancient crypt of snakes.
- To be polite, ninja will eat actual mud.
- The second statement is the lie, as Arin uses a pie as an alternative payment in "The Merge: Part 1," and Lloyd, Kai, Nya, Arin, and Sora eat mud in "Beyond Madness."
- This was done in honor of Tommy Andreasen's tradition of announcing details about upcoming seasons in this manner.
- Wyatt's three statements were:[2]
- The designs of some of the characters are slightly different from the designs in the previous series.
- Master Wu no longer has his braid on the back of his head and no sideburns either.
- This was done to more closely resemble his Ninjago: Core minifigure,[4] although in the trailer Wu still lacks the cheekbones he has on the minifigure and has had in all previous seasons.
- Nya's eyebrows are thicker, her hair is darker and since the fifth episode her two side hair strands are shorter for an animation reason: the new shoulder armor piece of the merge suits do not fit with Nya's hair piece so it had to been shortened to fit.
- Master Wu no longer has his braid on the back of his head and no sideburns either.
- Jay's voice is noticeably lower pitched compared to the previous WildBrain seasons since Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu.
- This is the first season since The Hands of Time to introduce a new elemental power, in this case, Technology, Heat, Fusion, and Shockwave are introduced.
- Unlike the seasons of the original series, this season does not have a title.[5][6]
- Episodes 11-15 were put up early on Disney+ Hotstar before being taken down.
- This is the only season to have an audio description option.
- The events of the first half of the season is similar to Hunted, as it involves the ninja being separated due to a mishap involving realms, and then having to save dragons from a dragon hunting regime.
- Due to the similarities, this season reuses many of Hunted's soundtracks.
- The season was written in 2021.[7]

- In Episode 18, Beatrix becomes determined to use the MergeQuake weapon and decides to seek Ras' help after her first attempt fails. However, Beatrix retaliated to Ras by asserting that, in fact, it was her support that had elevated Ras from insignificance in Imperium.
- In Episodes 19-20, Beatrix engaged in intense battles against both the ninja and the dragons. As the truth about her mistreatment of the Imperians and dragons was revealed, Beatrix resorted to using the MergeQuake weapon to launch a fierce attack against everyone until she was pushed into a MergeQuake by Arin, resulting in her dethronement.

- As the leader of the Claws of Imperium, Ras played a major role in Part 1.

He would later confront Arin and Sora in a battle for Riyu. However, despite his efforts, Ras was defeated and later imprisoned for his failure.

- Dorama was focused on in Episodes 3, 4, 7-8, 13, 15, and 18-19.
- In Episodes 13 and 15, Dorama travels to Wyldness to reclaim the purple Dragon Core and competed with with Kai, Wyldfyre, and Lava-Tides for possession of the artifact. In the end, Dorama manages to outsmart them and pilfer the purple Dragon Core.

- In Episode 10, it was revealed that Jordana was the envious girl in Sora's class and that she had been determined to outshine Sora in every aspect ever since the science fair.
- In Episodes 18-19, she was given the responsibility of extracting the dragon power from the Source Dragon to produce a new Dragon Core for Beatrix. She successfully accomplished this task, but not without facing opposition from Dr. LaRow.
- In Episode 20, Jordana encountered Ras and discovered that her ability to drain a Source Dragon would be valuable to Ras' Master's evil scheme of capturing all seven Source Dragons. Jordana ultimately agreed to join forces with Ras.
