“So, taking Master Wu's advice, I went searching. And it was in the Land of Lost Things where I finally found what I was looking for. My family. Cole, Geo, you and the Finders filled that lonely feeling inside me with a warmth I'd never known.”

Bonzle is an ancient spell in the form of a skeleton and a member of the Finders. She was brought to life by Gandalaria with the purpose of banishing the Forbidden Five from the realms. Centuries later, Bonzle settled in the Land of Lost Things with the Finders, seeking a sense of family. However, Ras has intentions of freeing the Forbidden Five, leading him to seek out Bonzle for capture in order to use her in the Ritual of the Blood Moon. Therefore, Zane and Cole set off on a journey to Mysterium in search of Bonzle's creator, Gandalaria.

However, they were intercepted by Dorama before defeating him. Together, they found Gandalaria and asked for her help in protecting Bonzle from Ras. After defeating the Administration Agents, they continued their journey to the Wyldness to find a magical storagehouse for Bonzle's protection. Unfortunately, their efforts were in vain as Jordana managed to capture Bonzle and trap Cole, Zane, and Gandalaria in an electro cage. Arin was able to save Bonzle from Jordana, but was stopped by Ras. Jordana used Bonzle to free the Forbidden Five, but only succeeded in Nokt after sending Kai to the Nether-Space. Bonzle closed the gate after Nokt was freed and apologized to Kai, who reassured her that no apology was needed.

History[]

Background[]

Bonzle was a strong and complicated spell crafted by the high sorceress Gandalaria at the request of Dragon Masters Egalt and Rontu to banish the Forbidden Five to a place more permanent than the Departed Realm. After the Dragon Masters banished the Forbidden Five, Bonzle remained while the other spells disappeared, due to the spell being extremely strong. Bonzle quickly learned how to feel, and began to develop a feeling of loneliness. Bonzle wandered the realms for centuries until she ended up at the Dragon Stone Shrine, where she met Wu meditating. They discussed loneliness, and Wu told Bonzle of how friends can become family. In order to be more effective at connecting with others, Bonzle used the majority of her energy as a spell to manifest a physical form.

Dragons Rising, Season 1[]

Land of Lost Things[]

When Cole, Geo, Nya, Sora, Fritz, and Spitz returned to the Rookery, Bonzle asked them if they had brought back anything useful, specifically bones.

Later, when Dr. LaRow showed up, Bonzle warned Sora about Dr. LaRow after seeing her. during the talk between Sora and Dr. LaRow Bonzle decided to help Sora so she threw a bone at Dr. LaRow before being pulled away by Geo.

Dragons Rising, Season 2[]

Force From the East[]

Bonzle interrupts Geo, who was admiring a picture of the Finders in the Rookery. When they go outside, she states that she doesn't each much anyways in response to Geo's uncertainty about what they had to eat. After he mentions Cole following the voice of Wu, Bonzle says that it could be a trap and Cole won't ever come back.

When the Wolf Clan controlled Cloud Kingdom drops its anchor in the Land of Lost Things, the impact causes Geo, Bonzle, Fritz, and Spitz to fall to the ground as Wolf Mask Warriors run down the chain. The warriors start to chase Bonzle, but are stopped by Geo. More warriors start to chase Bonzle, and Geo rescues her once more. The Finders continue to fight the warriors until even more arrive, and Bonzle is dragged off by them. Geo realizes that they're trying to take her. All of a sudden, Cole arrives in his Elemental Golem armor, demanding the Wolf Mask Warriors to leave Bonzle alone. He attacks them as they run up the anchor's chain with Bonzle in between, causing her to fall. Geo catches her, and Cole secures their safety in a shell of earth and trash.

In the earth and trash shell around the portal gate, Cole convenes with the group, and theorizes that the Wolf Mask Warriors must want Bonzle for a reason. Geo asks her if she knows why. Bonzle tells them that she doesn't know why they're after her, claiming that she's never seen them before. However, she looks at them guiltily.

Later, when Geo questions building a portal gate because of the spell around the Land of Lost Things, Bonzle tells them that she thinks they can leave.

The Spell at the Waterfall[]

Bonzle and the rest of the Finders made their way through the Monastery's portal gate, where they were greeted by Frohicky and Zane. Following a fierce battle with the Wolf Mask Claw Warriors, the group proceeded to the living room of the Monastery of Spinjitzu. Cole's revelation that the Wolf Clan would relentlessly pursue them until they captured Bonzle prompted her to disclose her true nature as a spell, the reason why Ras wanted her. Bonzle was apprehensive about how her companions would react upon learning the truth, but Zane encouraged her to be transparent. Bonzle then recounted her history through a shadow play, narrating how she was created to banish the Forbidden Five to the Nether-Space and her subsequent encounter with Wu. She elaborated on her quest for companionship, revealing that her visit with Wu held immense significance for her.

Bonzle shared her journey to find a family among friends, recounting her time in the Land of Lost Things and how the Finders had filled the void of loneliness within her with their warmth. She confessed that she had kept this information hidden out of uncertainty about their reaction, but Cole and Geo embraced her, assuring her of their bond. Zane came to the realization that Ras coveted Bonzle due to her potential to release the Forbidden Five from their exile, prompting Bonzle to express regret for not fading away. However, Cole reassured her of her value and love within the group. Cole emphasized the importance of finding Gandalaria at Mysterium to protect Bonzle.

To Mysterium[]

Bonzle claimed that it had been a while since her last visit to Mysterium, harboring concerns that Gandalaria might no longer be alive. However, they recognized that returning to Mysterium to find Gandalaria was their only viable option to ensure Bonzle's safety from Ras. Bonzle confided her apprehension that Gandalaria might not accept her humanity, given that she was originally designed as a spell. Cole reassured her, asserting that Gandalaria would be the first to celebrate Bonzle's transformation. Soon, they realized that Fritz and Spitz were absent, having ventured to the hangar bay, where they were playing around with the SA Mark 01. The situation escalated when the SA Mark 01 became uncontrollable, nearly endangering Bonzle, Zane, and Geo, until Cole managed to immobilize the mech while Zane successfully powered it down.

Uncertain of Mysterium's current location within the Merged Realms, Bonzle, Cole, and Zane decided to venture to the Crossroads in search of a map, all while disguised to avoid drawing attention. Bonzle expressed concern that their efforts to remain inconspicuous were, paradoxically, attracting more scrutiny. Their quest soon led them to an encounter with Fedulian, who provided them with a map. Using the map, the trio, accompanied by Jiro, inadvertently navigated into a toxic gas area, resulting in a crash landing in a desert. Cole felt a deep sense of guilt for putting Bonzle in such a precarious situation, but Bonzle offered reassurance. However, they soon discovered that the map was a forgery. Undeterred, Bonzle proposed they head north, and as they proceeded, they stumbled upon a well. Approaching the well, they were suddenly confronted by a giant puppet that captured Bonzle, Cole, Zane, and Jiro, imprisoning them in Dorama's Academy for Acting alongside the citizens of the Crossroads and the algae farmers.

Fugitives From Madness[]

As they entered the Monastery of Mysterium, Bonzle, Cole, and Zane noticed a unique interior. Bonzle humorously remarked that it looked like someone had copied the design of the Monastery of Spinjitzu due to how much they're obsessive with it. When Zane asked if this was where she had been created, Bonzle wasn't sure, explaining that the Monastery of Mysterium wasn't established beforehand. Bonzle speculated whether Gandalaria would remember or recognize her, and whether she might have left. Cole then pointed out a crack in the wall shaped like a noodle, similar to the damage caused by him and Jay during a previous fight before their noodle outing, which Bonzle thought was an odd way to end a fight. Just then, the trio met Spirite, heralding Gandalaria's arrival.

Bonzle felt joyful when Gandalaria recognized her in her skeletal form, acknowledging that she was the only one of Gandalaria's creations to seek her out and appreciating that Bonzle had named her new form. They shared an embrace, but Cole and Zane told Gandalaria about Ras's plan to kidnap Bonzle in order to free the Forbidden Five. The group decided to go to the magical storagehouse in the Wyldness to gather materials to protect Bonzle from Ras. However, their plans were disrupted by the sudden arrival of Administration Agents looking for Zane, coinciding with the rise of the Blood Moon. The Agents announced their intention to eliminate Bonzle and her companions for assisting Zane, who was considered a fugitive. Gandalaria told Bonzle to take cover in the passages with Sprite, while she, Cole, and Zane prepared to confront the Administration Agents. As Bonzle and Sprite hid, they encountered Jay, who demanded their surrender.

Enter the City of Temples[]

Kai was frustrated as he was ensnared in the Nether-Space. Bonzle urged Kai to keep quiet, warning him that the Forbidden Five would relish the opportunity to hunt them down and take pleasure in their demise once they discovered that both Kai and Bonzle were trapped with them. Just moments later, they caught sight of three members of the Forbidden Five approaching. In a panic, they attempted to evade detection, but their escape was nearly thwarted when they stumbled near a pit, causing rocks to tumble and create a loud noise. Kai quickly grabbed Bonzle, preventing her from falling into the abyss. Bonzle, convinced that their noise had gone unnoticed, felt a fleeting sense of relief. Unfortunately, that hope was short-lived as the Forbidden Five drew nearer. With urgency, Bonzle urged Kai to flee as the three members closed in on them.

Inside the Maze[]

Bonzle followed Kai and find the remaining members of the Forbidden Five, ultimately discovering Rox, the only one they had not encountered earlier. As they observe, they realized that the Forbidden Five were talking to someone from the Merged Realms. After three of the members depart, Kai and Bonzle turn their attention to Rox, with Bonzle expressing concern about her condition and questioning whether she was still alive. Kai reassured her that Rox is indeed alive, albeit unconscious. While examining Kai, Bonzle spotted what she initially thought was lint on Kai's arm, but Kai soon realized it was actually scales from Riyu, which had fallen onto him during the Ritual of the Blood Moon. The revelation led Bonzle to understand that these scales create a physical link between Kai and Riyu, suggesting that Kai may be able to communicate with Riyu.

The Sword Shatters[]

Bonzle and Kai continued their covert observation of the Forbidden Five, who were arguing. Intrigued by the nature of their discussion, Bonzle pressed Kai for details until the Forbidden Five finally left. Once they were gone, Bonzle rejoined Kai, who resumed his conversation with Riyu. During this exchange, Kai expressed concern to Nya about the Forbidden Five's secretive communications with someone from the Merged Realms. Just as the conversation was gaining momentum, it was abruptly cut off, leaving both Bonzle and Kai bewildered. Unbeknownst to them, Nya and Riyu had been captured by Nokt and Rox.
