Boo Ball is a recurring object in the Luigi's Mansion series. It first appears in Luigi's Mansion for Nintendo GameCube.
Description[]
It is a white ball depicting a Boo face, serving as a decoy of a Boo. In Luigi's Mansion, Boo Balls depict a crudely drawn face that appears to have been drawn from a black marker, but in Luigi's Mansion 3, the face depicts the outline of a Boo's face properly.

While Luigi is in a room with a Boo, and the Boo Radar rapidly blinks red, the furniture next to him may contain either a Boo Ball or a bomb. It it does occur, this only occurs once while visiting the room, so, but can occur again upon re-entering it. As Luigi moves around and the Boo Radar blinks rapidly a second time, the furniture next to him is guaranteed to have the actual Boo in it. A Boo Ball cannot harm Luigi, and he can vacuum it against the nozzle of his Poltergust 3000 and then release to destroy the Boo Ball.
Luigi's Mansion 3[]
There is a Boo Ball in the Sandy Grand Hall in the Tomb Suites. Unlike in Luigi's Mansion, the Boo Ball cannot be destroyed if Luigi blows it off the Poltergust G-00. Instead, Luigi can destroy the Boo Ball by firing it at the top of the pyramid. When the Boo Ball is destroyed, three Gold Bats are released, and the player unlocks the achievement "Found and popped the beach ball in Tomb Suites."
