Edward Charles Allan "Eddie" Brock was a journalist, former investigative reporter, and a former worker at the Daily Bugle. His career as a reporter unwittingly failed due to the actions of Spider-Man. Gaining a great resentment towards the masked vigilante, this anger he was feeling managing him to get the attention of a symbiote that was earlier discarded there by Spider-Man himself who sensed his anger and merged with him, becoming one of the deadliest foes of Spider-Man known as Venom.

Eddie Brock under the symbiote Venom was one of the many villains who entered into conflict with Spider-Man over his twenty-two years.
