Biography[]
Background[]
Not much is known about Sean Brooks' past, but he was born in Ireland on Earth to unnamed parents, and became the first person in his family to join the marines. Assigned to the UNSA Retribution, he became the second-in-command to the ship's SATO Marines infantry leader, Staff Sergeant Usef Omar, and has served as his right-hand for years. He also became friends with fellow marine Todd Kashima, whom was known as the class clown in their infantry.
Infinite Warfare[]
Brooks and the marines were stationed on the Retribution during fleet week, and he survived the Settlement Defense Front's surprise attack. After Nick Reyes' promotion, Brooks and the SATO Marines participated in Operation Port Armor, where Admiral Fredrick Raines tasked the Retribution and the Tigris with re-taking Earth's lunar gateway from the SDF. During the mission, the group boarded SDF officer Bradley Fillion's ship, and E3N (Enhanced Tactical Humanoid 3rd Revision) downloaded the locations of each SDF's leadership and their warships. With this information, Reyes proceeded to commence operations to deal great blows against the SDF, and Brooks participated in several ship assaults.
Still needing time to rebuild the UNSA from the attack, Admiral Raines tasks the Retribution to destroy the SDF's fueling station on Titan. While proceeding to the fueling station, the Olympus Mons arrives and attacks the soldiers on the ground, but the Retribution arrives and commences a counterattack. After Nick and E3N are rescued by Captain Maureen Ferran, the crew travel to Vesta-3 to learn why the recent shipment never left the port. The team discover that the mechanized bots on the mining colony have gone rogue and killed the crew, but they are able to find several miners hiding. During the escape, Omar is killed after failing to save a miner, telling his teammates to leave him behind.
After the death of his commanding officer, Brooks is promoted to sergeant by Reyes, needing him to lead the marines against the SDF. Needing to turn the tide of the war, Reyes forms a plan to lure the SDF to Geneva by destroying the transponder in Akeel Min Riah and commencing a surprise attack. However, the plan went awry when Riah escaped with the assistance of the SDF, and succeed in destroying the transponder. Upon the arrival of the Olympus Mons, Brooks assisted his teammates in infiltrating Admiral Salen Kotch's flagship, and seeing him be killed by Reyes. Brooks then lead his subordinates in taking the fight against the SDF on Mars, with Reyes' plan to destroy their shipyard. However, Nick aborted his plan to have the Olympus Mons ram into the shipyard, thus causing the warship and the Retribution to crash onto the planet.
Brooks and numerous members of the crew survived the crash, but Todd Kashima was mortally wounded and trapped under a pile of rubble. Sean and Nick attempt to save his fellow marine, but the former is unable to find any medical kits, thus leading to Kashima dying from blood loss. After mourning the loss of his comrade, Sean participates in the assault to reach the SDF's shipyard, and Reyes and E3N sacrifice themselves to complete the mission. Alongside Nora Salter, Evelyn "Boats" Sotomura, Erwin Kloos, Brooks is one of surviving Retribution crew members to survive the conflict.
