Mac (also known as Little Mac) is the main protagonist of the Nintendo's Punch Out!! franchise.
In Super Punch-Out!!, he is voiced by Charles Martinet. In Punch Out!! Wii, he is voiced by Matt Henry.
Biography[]
Background[]
He's a 17-year-old Italian American boxer from Bronx, New York. He is interested in getting into the World Video Boxing Association, which has a long history of rookie boxers joining the ranks in an effort to become world champions. Furthermore, he traveled to New York City in hopes of searching for someone that could train him. It was not until he met Jerome "Doc" Louis, who was a former heavyweight champion in his own right, that he began his journey to the top of the World Circuit. Doc gives Little Mac advice between rounds in each game.
Punch Out!! (1984)[]
Little Mac made his debut in the NES installment of Punch-Out!!. Prior to the game's events, he met Doc Louis by chance one day. Doc took him under his wing, teaching him everything he knew about boxing. After rigorous training, Little Mac entered the World Video Boxing Association. After beating several circuits under Doc's guidance, he finally became the champion after defeating Mike Tyson (Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!) or Mr. Dream (Punch-Out!! featuring Mr. Dream).
Judging from the newspaper right before The Dream Fight, Little Mac was born in 1970.
Super Punch Out!![]
According to Super Punch-Out!!'s description on the American Wii Shop Channel, the SNES installment in the series takes place after the NES and Wii installments. Little Mac has parted ways with Doc Louis, he received a makeover, and his repertoire has expanded to include the Rapid Punch and Knockout Punch. These two new punches replace the Star Punch from the previous home console installment. He works his way up the ranks again and takes the title of "Ultimate Champ" after beating Nick Bruiser.
The taller, tan and blond boxer is stated to be Little Mac in the Game Over screen of Super Punch-Out!!, some US promotional materials, and Nintendo News. However, this is never stated in any other advertising materials and the producers of Punch-Out!! for Wii claim it was a separate character.
Punch Out!! (2009)[]
Assuming the commercials for the game can be taken as canon, Mac enters the WVBA fifteen years after Punch Out!! for the NES. Sometime before joining, he lost his title as a champion to King Hippo. He enters the WVBA once again to win back his title as champion. This time, He wins the title again after defeating Mr. Sandman and eventually appears to retire.

In the Japan-exclusive video game Captain Rainbow, Little Mac is overweight and needs the protagonists to help to get back into fighting shape.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl[]
Little Mac appears as an Assist Trophy in the game, he attacks by dashing to an opponent and unleashing either a punch or an uppercut. He also appears as a trophy.
Super Smash Bros. for 3DS/Super Smash Bros. for Wii U[]
Little Mac is a playable character in both versions of the game and fights with his moves from his own series, such as the Star Punch and Power Meter. His Final Smash is Giga Mac, which is a form that debuted in Punch Out!! Wii's multiplayer. Fat Mac appears as a trophy in the Wii U version.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[]
Little Man appears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as an unlockable character. Little Mac's fighter spirit can be obtained by clearing the classic mode using himself. Giga Mac is a legend-ranked primary attack-type spirit that increases the user's fist attacks. His spirit battle is a stamina battle against giant Little Mac with super armor and hard to launch on the Boxing Ring.
In World of Light, Little Mac is one of the many fighters that are vaporized by Galeem's beam, he can be found in the Light Realm.
