The Army Trailer[1] is a towable trailer in Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online.
Design[]
Grand Theft Auto V and Online[]
The trailer is depicted as a triple-axle flatbed trailer with multiple variants and features, having a seemingly large profile (much larger than the regular flatbed trailer). It has two stands on the front for the landing gear, packing of the chassis on the underside and a small rear bumper with circular tail lights, consisting of inner brake lights and outer main/turning lights. The bed features a front wall and various hook points across the borders. It uses industrial wheels similar to the ones seen on the Dock Handler and Docktug.
- The first model,
armytrailer
, features a camo livery identical to that of the Barracks, Barracks Semi and Crusader, and is assigned a white primary color (though not visible due to the livery wrapping around the entire body), while the rims seem to adopt a brownish/yellowish color. During the mission Minisub, a tarpaulin is used to cover the Submersible. - The second model,
armytrailer2
, assumes an identical design to the first one, but has a more civilian look with no livery, and carries the prop of a Cutter with its front structure lowered. It spawns in a brown primary color for the body, while the Cutter prop is assigned a yellow secondary color. - The third model,
freighttrailer
, appears as an extended variation of the same trailer, evident by the lack of details where the extended body is added. It is intended to carry a Freight Train, and it is only seen in a brown primary color similar to the second model. Unlike the other two models, it lacks an entry (.gxt2) name.
According to the files, the following vehicles can tow this trailer:
- Barracks Semi (army)
- Docktug (army)
- Hauler (army)
- Packer (army and civilian)
- Phantom (army)
- Phantom Wedge (army)
The freighttrailer
cannot be towed by any vehicle, as it is not listed under any trailer property of trucks. If the player gains a freighttrailer
, driving a truck up to the trailer in attempt to hook it on will result in the stands failing to raise, and the fifth wheel will not accept the trailer.

Performance[]
Grand Theft Auto V and Online[]
Being a heavy-duty trailer and build primarily for larger, heavier loads, it is easily the heaviest trailer a tractor trailer can tow, being as heavy as a Barracks Semi. Because of this, player will find it quite difficult to cruise around busy traffic or narrow streets, as well as a significant reduction in speed. The trailers' widths also mean they are extremely precarious to effectively tipple upon cornering, and the front extension of the trailer often results in a poor turning radius. The extended version is much exigent, requiring more space to turn the vehicle without crashing it on other cars or other obstacles on the streets. The player can also stand on top of any variation of the trailer without the risk of falling off.[2]
Being a trailer, it cannot be driven, however it does feature its own handling line.

- These trailer models are mission-exclusive and cannot be obtained in normal gameplay without the use of modifications.
Trivia[]
Grand Theft Auto V[]
- On the
armytrailer2
variant, the headlights of the Cutter prop are programmed to work as marker lights. Thus, the player may notice the lights being on when the trailer is attached to a semi truck, especially during night time.
