The Crawler (クロウラー, Kurōrā?), also known as the CRAWL or Live Oak, is a recurring creature in the Final Fantasy series, debuting in the original Final Fantasy. Crawlers have appeared as various invertebrates, be it as worms, caterpillars, slugs, or ambulatory plants. They often inflict a negative status effect on targets, with attacks or special abilities, though the status effect inflicted varies wildly between games. They are usually considered to be among the lower echelon of enemies in terms of difficulty to defeat.
